Rafa’s Press Conference – We Have To Get Back To Good Habits

Rafa Benitez has just completed his press conference for the tough game at Nottingham Forest tomorrow night in the Championship.

We have managed to lose our last two games after winning nine in a row.

We played badly at home to Blackburn last Saturday and when we played well in the EFL 5th round at Hull City on Tuesday night we still lost.

Some of Rafa’s comments are now being reported on the Newcastle United Twitter account and in Chronicle Live.

These are some of them in no particular order:

“We played vs a PL team and we played very well for long periods. But when we score, we must manage it a lot better.”

“The defeat on penalties was hard to take, but at least we didn’t get any injuries. We played well and learned a lot”

“We have to change some players – how many, we have to decide.’ “When you don’t have much time between games, you have to rest players.”

“Nottingham Forest are a good team. They’re doing well now – they’ve had some good results and are scoring goals so we know they will be dangerous.”

“The Championship is always difficult but Forest are scoring goals and are difficult.”

“After so many wins in a row, people weren’t expecting defeat against Blackburn. Now we have to be sure we get back to good habits.”

We definitely need a win tomorrow night but it looks a tough game with only 50% of our fans thinking we can win this one.

Newcastle United are in the headlines in all media about child abuse except, as far as I can tell, any blog regarding the club and no mention from the club itself.

Whilst it appears the allegations refer to when the club was in previous ownership I’m very surprised by the lack coverage by the club and the various blogs.

    Slank,
It’s not a very nice subject and we can only hope that those involved are tried and punished.

    Jail,

Absolutely but why no comment from the club especially as they were very quick to react to what that idiot darts player said.

NUFC aren’t the only club implicated in this scandal and as sure as eggs are eggs, it’s going to become bigger as time goes on.

There’ll likely be an official inquiry and it would be unwise for us or any club for that matter to comment beyond saying it’s carrying out an internal investigation to establish the facts. Any further comment could have legal implications hence the silence.

Never read what the club said about Bristow’s comment but in itself, his words had nothing to do with the paedophile activities. The clown was talking about how he felt proper blokes would react and that’s got nothing to do with whatever’s happened to the young lads involved.
