Benitez May Now Want A Playmaker Signed In January

With Jonjo Shelvey;s sending off last night he will miss the next three games and then with his personal hearing on his FA misconduct charge being heard two weeks on Monday it’s very possible that Jonjo could miss the next eight games – at a minimum.

With Newcastle’s mini-slump of three successive defeats, Rafa will be concentrating on which players he needs to bring in next month to ensure we can be promoted this season.

Rafa Benitez – Newcastle manager

It would be an almighty tragedy if Newcastle are not in the Premier League next season, but that’s always possible – so promotion must remain the number one priority.

Newcastle already seem short of players who could replace Jonjo in the Newcastle team, so we would expect Newcastle to look at signing a play-maker who could come straight into the side and make a difference next month.

That would seem to rule out a player like Alan Judge of Brentford, who will only be returning to light training from his broken leg next month.

We have been linked with 19 year-old Anderlecht playmaker Youri Tielemans, but there will be other players that Rafa has in mind who could possibly come into the squad.

Of course there’s no need to panic at the moment since we still have five games left to play this year and there’s no particular reason why we couldn’t win all five.

Certainly in the current situation we need to put together another winning streak.

We could also lose top place today if Brighton beat Cardiff in south Wales this afternoon.

But we have full faith in  Rafa Benitez to fix this current situation and keep Newcastle United moving forward.

Certainly the players showed last night they have passion, fight, spirit and guts when they wear that famous black and white striped shirt.

That’s got to be a huge positive for us this season.

Tom Cairney and Aluko from Fulham if we’re shopping in this division.

For those who don’t like Rafas Rotationals this is exactly the scenario it’s designed for. I doubt this will do much more than change our shape to another winning one. May take three or four games to get properly into stride but it will do the job.

    BBC website:-

“This was a must-win game for Leicester. If you can’t beat Sunderland away from home you won’t win any Premier League games away from home.”

People will see a safe 13th position and the six defeats in a row will be swept under the carpet. I’m sure Pardew is a dark side Jedi.

Well luckily we’ve been let off despite that freak of a ref, the Brighton ref disallowed a perfectly good goal as well so apart from Shelveys sending off no harm done.

WW……… I agree about Swansea . I think they resigned themselves to playing at a lower level where they feel more comfortable a few months ago. Bob the builder will have to kick some serious ass man.
