Update Report On Tim Krul

Tim Krul seems to be coming along nicely at Ajax and he has now played four games for the U21 side at Ajax as he prepares to fight 20 year-old Cameroon International Andre Onana for the goalkeeper jersey at Ajax.

Onana has played 17 times this season for Ajax and made his debut for Cameroon in September in a friendly against Gabon.

This is what he tweeted out last Friday.

Tim Krul may still have a career at Newcastle but it will almost totally depend on how well he does on loan at Ajax in the Eredivisie this season.

His his first job is to get into the first team with young Onana playing very well so far this season.

Tim was sent on loan to Ajax after the Dutch giants sold the their 24 year-old Dutch International goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen to Barcelona for around £12M in August.

But Jasper is struggling for playing time in Spain with German International and former Borussia Munchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen holding down the position so far this season.

Cillessen did play this week in the 4-0 Champions League win over Borussia Munchengladbach, but that was only his 5th appearance this season.

Onana is almost certain to be in the Cameroon squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, so if Tim cannot make the team before then it’s likely he will get his chance in January.

I rate Krul who is our best shot stopper and our best technical keeper. I hope he will sign a new contract. I acknowledge that he is a poor distributor of the ball and it’s something to work on.

There will be no lists. The evidence is irrefutable. Soon after the game Benitez accused Lansbury of engineering the two red cards. This was reported by Steve Madley. You clearly were not aware of this or that the referee, influenced by the linesman had been conned. An investigative journalist had corroborated and the report of the referee was correctly disputed by the club. Do not reckon without Benitez’s contacts in the media.
