Teammate Expounds This Player’s Many Talents

Apart from hat-trick hero Dwight Gayle there were a number of other players who put in excellent performances for Newcastle yesterday at ho,me to Birmingham City.

It was good to see Mohamed Diame back in the form we know he is capable of and Jonjo Shelvey put in another creative performance in the middle of the park.

Vurnon Anita, who is fighting for a new deal when his current contract runs out next June, was great in attacking down the right wing – surely he will get a new deal this summer?

The impressive Isaac Hayden in action yesterday

And Isaac Hayden is becoming some player for Newcastle, as the 21 year-old had maybe his best game ever for Newcastle and he almost scored the first goal before Dwight delivered on the first of his three goals.

After the game this is what Isaac had to say on the Newcastle web-site:

“Anything inside the box, we know that nine times out of ten he’s going to put it in the back of the net,”

“He’s a fantastic finisher – he’s the best finisher I’ve played with, certainly, especially in and around the box. Anything that drops, you’re confident he’s going to score.”

“It’s great to have a player like that in the team. It’s not only his goals, but the things that go unnoticed; his work rate today was fabulous, and it is every game.”

“He stretches defenses and by doing that, he gives more players time and space on the ball. He’s an important player for us.”

“I think it’s just about racking up the three points every week, every game that we can and that keeps us at the top of the table.”

“I think it was imperative that we got back to winning ways.”  “It wasn’t the greatest week last week – I don’t think that some of our performances deserved the results that we got.”

“We’re not really looking at the table position at the minute because we’re not even half way yet, so we’re just trying to take it game by game.”

As well as being a top class player Isaac’s temperament and character are exemplary – he is the new face of Newcastle United this season.

And not a bad signing by Rafa Benitez for just £2.5M from Arsenal.

Let’s hope the Hammers don’t get a real Hammering as they’re already homing in on Rafa according to Ed. Bilic is on borrowed time as the Baroness although harsh but fair on the apprentice won’t allow them to flirt with relegation.

    swallocks,
Leicester winning the league would pale in comparison to Rafa leaving us mid season for W Ham, he is under contract for starters and Ashley surely would see the folly of allowing him to go for 10M compared to tge prize that the PL brings.

After what Rafa has said about this club and his plans for NUFC, it’s almost as if any thoughts that he could be tempted to jump ship to another club before giving these plans at least a few seasons to materialize, are saying that we don’t believe/trust him.

Jail….I’m very relaxed about Rafa staying with us for the foreseeable future. He’s seen the potential and has already put a lot of passion and energy into building momentum for a serious attempt at success. The fans and the city love him and we’re his baby now. He won’t leave us so early in the project.

Surely Hippo Heed won’t be drafted back in to save the ammers. That would be a real climb down .

If Klopp has any serious thoughts about winning the championship, he needs to change his goal keeper.

Jail, not sure why the mind boggles,

im not interested that we have the best GD in all 4 divisions, it could be better IMO, its fine that Dummett wants to stay back, but that has to be balanced with a LW who offers more of a threat, as like i say Goufy offers work rate which should be a must for every player, goufy for me would be a player to come on for the last 20 mins to sure up the team,

and just because we are top of the league dosnt mean we shouldnt be looking to be better in our weaker areas, and i would rather sort that out in this division rather than the prem

The fact that we have lost every game that the Gouff hasn’t started should tell you something about playing Atsu over him.

Catchy…….. The team will evolve and improve in quality through each transfer window. Rafa is aware of what’s required and will change things as and when it’s necessary. We’re on track at the minute so let them do the job they’re there for.

    Swallocks,
My red line spell check works on every other app or comments form on my phone, not sure why it doesn’t do it on here, I’ve weighed the typos up against the bizarre random words that predictive text throws in and unfortunstely the typos are just slightly less annoying.

    Bettys

There’s surely no way that West Ham could entice Rafa over Christmas – the man’s on a mission – and if Bilic does get sacked soon, he’ll be replaced by either a long-term or an interim appointment. Either way, the chances of them going down are in the balance. If they do go down, where’s the attraction for Rafa when he’s still got work to do at Newcastle United.

That bindippers keeper is pure gash. They have a penchant for Scumderland keepers so here’s hoping KlippKlopp sticks a bid in for Pickford.

    Or he’s welcome to Sels….

I’m praying Rafa offers Anita a new deal. I kove Yedlin but Anita is the business.

jail, that could be down to the fact Atsu is new to the team and not really giving a run in the team.

and whilst you have a good stat,, stats also tell us that Attacking down the left we are the joint 3rd worst in the division, we never ever have the option of someone on that left touch line in the final third the way we have with richie Andre or Anita are, Goufy cuts in most times. like i say its not a nock on him, its just how i would be playing it, rd worst is very poor for a team that is going to win the league

    Catchy,
If anything needs correcting it’s the fact that we are the third worst team at attacking down the left, definitely worth experimenting with the balance of the team to sort that one out. Where on earth do you get these stats ftom anyway.

Mark Lawrenson: “Klopp has stuck his neck out with Loris Karius and said you are my number one and I just wonder now if he is privately thinking ‘what do I do now?’ because Simon Mignolet is a better goalkeeper, no question.”

He needs to be more pragmatic – like Rafa.
