Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player At Wigan?

Newcastle played well tonight at the DW Stadium and after dominating the game in the latter stages of the first half and going ahead with a superb strike from former Wigan midfielder Mo Diame, Wigan came back at us in the second half.

But then it was substitute Christian Atsu who scored his 3rd goal of the season and it was a beauty after 78 minutes to wrap up the win.

Newcastle go back to the top of the Championship just one point above Brighton & Hove Albion after 21 games played.

Next up are Burton Albion away on Saturday afternoon – that will not be an easy game.

Good effort from the players tonight, I don’t why some people think we are going to win every 4 or 5 nil, sometimes you have got to dig deep in games, we not going to have it all our own way.

Your posts are making sense so far. Must be poor whiskey your sipping.

And as we’re sitting on 46 points so early, we are all but safe from relegation.

Anyone think that tonight’s bench gave an indication of Saturday’s starting line up for Saturday? Let’s hope that Darlow gets the nod ahead of Sels though.

We have the depth and balance we’ve previously lacked with Ashley, but this side does lack quality, which ironically we have had. In midfield and defence you can do well with industrious capable players and organisation, but going forward you need a bit more quality. Shelvey can step up, but if Mitro and Perez aren’t, which is now looking a distinct likelihood, then I think we might need a whole new starting front four, if we are to do well next year. Two starting wingers, striker and attacking mid. Shelvey is very good, on and off the ball, on this seasons evidence, but without quality outlets at the higher level, he’ll struggle.

It’s the famous grouse. Cost me £18, figured this is a decent time to drink it to be honest. Especially since I’m going out with my dad on Friday for some drinks.

Also, is that a dig aha? Didn’t realise my posts were that bad haha.

Jail, delighted with the win again and still luvvin Rafa despite my assertions re his caution levels. From last night’s comment, who would u think is getting the most out of his squad, given the disparity in value, Rafa or hughton?
