Here’s another ex-pat currently living in the Philippines who has had a little bit of a health problem recently but is coming through it well.
Introducing the Old Geordie Geezer’s YouTube channel and summary of yesterday’s game and I’m trying to help him get off the ground a little bit with his new venture.

Comment #1IMO Chris was treated badly by the club after stepping into the breach and getting us straight back up.
A thoroughly decent chap who was shat on from a great height and despite all that has plied his trade with honesty and dignity throughout and is still doing a great job with Brighton despite an obvious lack of funds
Would I begin to compare him with Rafa? Absolutely not…Rafa plies his trade in a rarified atmosphere where there’s only maybe 15 managers breath the same air.
Would Hughton do a better job with the players Rafa has now. I very much doubt it.
Can houghton be regarded a better manager cos he’s 2nd in the league only 1 point behind us with no budget. No…he’s doing a great but he’s nowhere near as good Rafa.
Does Hughton deserve more accolades and respect because of the job he’s doing…Absolutely…but he ain’t no Rafa.

Comment #4True Geordie is the nutz…cannot help but spit me dunking tackle into me tea while watching him…this old geezer is far too tame but poor old True Geordie not half as funny cos we’re winning most games.
Good fun after the forest game though!

Comment #5If there’s any team that finish above us in 1st position who I don’t mind losing too and that’s Brighton, because they are the only team that are challenging us and deserve where they are now and our former manager is there as well.

Wouldn’t mind going to a pub and a few beers with The True Geordie, he would be a hell of a laugh.

Have you seen his video when we got relegated, one of his best rants ever, very funny at the end.

Comment #11Ancient- At a game you can scrutinise players to meet and satisfy your own requirements and interests. Tv focus is often on the irrelevant populist and not what actually can matter in the context of a competitive game. You can assess individual players and contrast and compare individual blend and competence- strengths and weaknesses. Scouts and managers don’t buy players based on tv and the Internet unless you’re the poisoned dwarf.
As a spectator you can look at individual and collective movement off the ball and passing options. As an example DG’s movement is not fully appreciated on tv and his runs can be overlooked when he doesn’t get the ball because of a lack of clear coverage. Focus can often not relay better or alternative options which you pick up as a spectator.
As far as using the mute control- I only have sound on if I am not familiar with teams or individual players. Interpretation and opinion go hand in hand.

Comment #12I watched them all last year…it was part of me therapy whilst watching that clown Mclaren throw our club down the toilet.
All better now and hair starting to grow again! 🙂 🙂

Ironically, SMc was the best thing that could have happened to the club.

Comment #14A win for Villa to move them into the dizzying heights of the top half of the table. Ironic that for all their anti Newcastle hysteria, it’s a Geordie who’s bailed them out and saved them from a relegation battle, which was looking on the cards earlier this season. You never know, they might even be able to open the rest of their stadium if Bruce carries on like this 🙂

Somewhat like many posters on here who only have anything to say if they’re whining and are now totally cattled by our success.

Comment #21I haven’t watched the old Geordie geezer however I find it a bit strange him using the term geezer. No self respecting Geordie would call himself a geezer. Gadgie is the more likely parochial term for describing a son of Tyneside.

Comment #22I think his first few videos where probably off the cuff to be fair to him, but then he got a bit of a following and started making a few quid out of it. It was all staged from that point onwards.
Keep your chin up Welshie I felt the same when I realized wrestling wasn’t real.
