Tim Krul is still coming back from his very serious ACL injury and he has yet to play for the Ajax first team, but he has played for the Ajax reserve side a few times now.
The Chronicle has a short interview with Ajax manager Peter Bosz today and Peter has said there’s a long way between playing for the Ajax first team and the reserves side.
Tim Krul – still to make his debut for Ajax
We would have expected Tim to have been playing by now, so it’s not such a big a shock that Tim is pushing hard to get his first game for Ajax, but Bosz says they have to protect Tim from himself after such a serious injury.
This is what Bosz has said in the Chronicle today about Tim:
“Medically there is no problem but there is a big difference between Ajax and Young Ajax – the reserves.”
“Things are getting better but there is still a long way before he is clear. Also, not every cruciate ligament injury can be compared.”
“The difficulty with Krul is that he is so eager, which I understand.” “Sometimes you have to protect him from himself – he had a serious injury.”
We’re surprised that Bosz says there’s still a long way to go before Tim is clear to play, since it’s almost 14 months since Tim picked up the cruciate ligament injury.
20 year-old Cameroon International Andre Onana is in goal at the moment at Ajax and he’s played 20 times this season for Ajax and made his debut for Cameroon in September in a friendly against Gabon.
He is almost certain to be in the Cameroon squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations next month – so if Tim cannot make the team before then it’s likely he will get his chance in January.
Comments welcome.

Elliot will camp out with his friend on Christmas Eve overnight on a challenging section of the wall before trekking around the relatively under-explored area of Jiankou on Christmas Day.
Here’s more information on the trek and his justgiving page.

Comment #42Hail Wor Ashley, agreed not a top manager yet, best English one though which is such a shame when you think about it. Still nothing to worry about for us because Rafa is a top manager, such a difference a year makes.

Comment #44Will be interesting to see what Ian Wright has to say now his mate has been given the boot.
As many on here predicted -initial good start then downhill – spot on.

“Jib, I dont think Garde will save Villa. I dont think so anyway. It wudnt surprise me if he is gone at the end of the season. As for the Pardew haters, well I guess if ye couldnt give him a shred of credit for fifth and a decent run in europe at the time, ye aint gonna give him anything now. As I have said before he is a mid level manager, and do not wish to elevate him beyond that. Still, those who said he would relegate them last season were make to look a bit stupid werent you ? And it aint looking like relegation this season either for the guy you think is so useless! He’s not useless lads, you just called it wrong. He’s average. Anyway he was right – 5th was getting above ourselves and does not match the full history of NUFC. And yes, I’m glad he’s gone and am pleased to see the style of play we have now. Bear in mind though, that apparently Steve talked a lot of guff at Forest too.”

Comment #46Pardew had something like 28 points in the last 38 games, Parish had to fire the bullet.

Comment #50Sounds like hippo heed has the job nailed on according to talksport. So like I suggested, that China talk was just a red herring. Beginning to sound like the details of Hippo’s contract has already been sorted. They said something about him meeting the owners already, although I may have misheard that bit because I missed the bit previous. It’s on talksport now anyway, they appear to be a bit in the know. Mmm.
