With Jonjo Shelvey being out for the next five games – the question is how will Rafa deal with the situation – will he change the way Newcastle play and who will be the person to come in to replace the creative Jonjo?
With Jack Colback coming back into fitness at seemingly the exact right time it would be Jack who could come in and get the job done for Newcastle during Jonjo’s absence.
But there are rumblings that injured eye is still affecting him and he may not be fit to face Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night.
Cheick Tiote – could player against the Owls
If that’s the case Rafa could put Mo Diame back there, but another player who Rafa could call on is Cheick Tiote.
Tiote is fit and he has been training with the first team squad all season, even though he is expected to leave the club in January before his contract runs out next June.
But this maybe the fourth transfer window in a row where Cheick has been expected to leave the club – but so far hasn’t – and Rafa has played him only once all season.
So it could be a real surprise that Rafa has in store for the line-up tomorrow – when it’s announced about an hour before the kickoff – which is at 7:45 pm tomorrow night.
Cheick Tiote could make his second appearance of the season tomorrow night and certainly he is very experienced and has played 154 times for the Magpies since he arrived back in the summer of 2010 from FC Twente.
With 52 caps for the Ivory Coast in his career so far, he will be able to do a job for Newcastle in central midfield if called upon by the manager – and he’s still only 30 years old.
