Jack Colback In For Jonjo Shelvey

Rafa has just announced his team for the home game against Sheffield Wednesday this afternoon and Jack Colback is fit and he comes in as a direct replacement for Jonjo Shelvey – who is suspended for the next five games.

That’s really good news for Newcastle  and Jack almost never lets the side down and all eyes will be on the Geordie lad tonight as Newcastle go for their 4th win in a row against the Owls.

The rest of the team is as expected and it’s a strong team that Rafa has fielded for tonight’s game.

This is what Rafa has said on what could be a tough test for the lads tonight.

“Every single game, I can see how difficult it is to win so I just concentrate on that.”

“I know that Sheffield Wednesday are a very good team. They were in the promotion battle last year and were nearly there.

“And we know that they were really good in the second part of the season.”

“So still we have 24 games to play and I want to be sure that players realise it’s not job done.”

“For sure, we have to approach every game trying to get three points. In April, we have seven games so a lot of points, and we have to keep going.”

A large majority of Newcastle fans think we can win this afternoon.

Let’s hope they are right with 3rd and 4th placed clubs Reading and Huddersfield both winning their games earlier today.

Reading beat Norwich 3-1 at home and Huddersfield won at home 2-1 against Nottingham Forest.

just got back home from newcastle, wished i could have stayed 1 extra day to be at the match tonight. worst flight ever, took 3 attempts to land, and had to abort 2 of them, then landed side ways on the 3rd attempt.

Worrying that nobody seemed to know who was supposed to take the free-kick on the left in Shelvey’s absence, then Hayden took it who has proved himself a presence in the box in such situations.

Oof Gayle. Looked a good save that.

Did he get booked? Cynical and Gayle had 1 man left to beat.

Look very shaky defensively and Sheff Wed committing a lot of men in attacks.

    Darlow to the rescue.
