Fans A Hindrance To The Team – Newcastle Big Boxing Day Losers

This is not the first time that somebody has suggested sell-out crowds at Newcastle don’t really help the side.

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson said as much last season when we were fighting relegation and Sam Allardyce – then Sunderland manager –  said the crowd were not a help to the Newcastle side – unlike the Sunderland fans at the Stadium of Light.

Andy Naylor is the Brighton Argus reporter and he put out some tweets today as he also covered Brighton’s 3-0 win over QPR.

The Newcastle crowd at St. James’ Park

And with Derby County winning (again) 1-0 at home to Birmingham all six teams below Newcastle at the start of the Boxing Day fixtures won – so they all gained 3 points on us – and it’s becoming a little grouped in the top six.

Derby have won eight and drawn one (25 points) of the last nine games and gained 7 points on Newcastle – we have six wins and three defeats (18 points) over the same number of games.

They are 7th on 39 points.

bob bradley gone back to his own country, relegation battles were too hard for him. Swans didn’t act quick enough BFS is now in london, they’ll have to get that 7 month premier ship 100 year championship puppet.

Load of bollocks. The problem was not the crowd. It was the players and the game management. I mentioned Mitrovic. There it is in a microcosm. Trying to rouse the crowd with his arms when he really needed to rouse them with effort. Pathetic. I’m dying to meet him to tell him.

Perhaps Swans could give JC a route back into the top flight. After all he’s been there and done it before.

    Blackas,
I hope you realise you’ve driven Jibberish from the blog while he desperately searches for the quick footed black lad from Forest to show you how clever he is, I personally can’t recall him but I am thinking.

As JFA said, who the fcuk is this Taylor cnut???

Fcukin sick of the sh!t we get from cnuts covering this league. All these p!ss-poor no-marks should be grateful of the income and interest we bring to their clogger league.

We will finish top as we have the best manager, the best team and a huuuge wodge of cash to burn on cementing our promotion push.

As Shelvey put it the rest of this sh!te league are peasants.

And I can’t wait to see the EFL bigwigs’ faces when we look down on everyone come May.

Rafa came out early and said he’d set up to probe patiently to counter teams that will press and counterattack, and crowd anxiety is a real issue. The heavy shirt expression is a direct reference to it. It would help immensely if the crowd recognised this and roared the team on for 90 plus minutes, but after 50 trophy less seasons that would be wishful thinking. The crowd has long been like playing with one extra or one less, and plenty of players have played like they were shitting it as a result.

    Jimmy,
the crowd were fantastic, it’s hard to keep it noisy when there’s nothing on show we were giving it everything but we never took our chances, if Dwight Hurricaine’s shot that was palmed on to the crossbar went in it would have been a different game.

“Anxiety Overload” … “Crowd Anxiety” what is this desperate lower rung hack trying to copyright? What a joke, he’s taking his cues from Paul ‘Another Round?” Merson and Sam “Plain Brown Envelope Please” Allardyce is he? Second rate psych tactics from a provincial word juggler. Pay no heed. I’d say having a tiny crowd at a desperate seaside town venue would be more of a drawback.
