Newcastle Unlikely To Sign This Top Midfielder Next Month

The Mail is reporting today that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is willing to send top young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek out on loan in January for the rest of the season.

But Conte doesn’t want him sitting on the bench if he does go out on loan – since he can do that at Chelsea – so any loan deal would need to have assurances that he would play regularly.

The 20-year-old hasn’t played too many games this season mainly due to injury and the news is Conte would allow him to join a Premier League club lower down the league table.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – Chelsea’s impressive young midfielder

Newcastle need a creative midfielder to augment Jonjo Shelvey.

And our disastrous 1-0 defeat last night at home to Sheffield Wednesday seemed to show we will miss Shelvey as he served the first game of a five match ban for an FA misconduct charge.

If the poor results continue with Jonjo out, then a creative midfielder may even become Newcastle’s top target next month.

But it looks like Conte would prefer his impressive young player to play Premier League football on loan, which is hardly surprising.

And in any case Newcastle could (would) hardly guarantee to give him regular playing time at Newcastle for the rest of the season.

So the chances of Newcastle getting Ruben Loftus-Cheek in on loan next month have to be slim at best.

What do you think?

Jib – look! There it goes, right over your head! WHOOOOOSSSSHHHH!!! Ha ha you jelly-brained slackwit 🙂

I’m being ironic about those who constantly criticise Ed for his Blog, the “clickbait” digs and such he keeps getting. Wake up sonny and do some googling on “context” . It’ll sink in sooner or later.

And Jib, WordPress may be rocket surgery to you but it wouldn’t be wildest dreams territory at all. More like a nightmare with marginally self-aware rogue search engines like you.

Ooh, what a surprise….Brighton get another pen and play against 10 men. Must be about the tenth time this season.

Kind of usually happens when they’re under the cosh…until good ol’ Uncle FA steps in.
