These Were Newcastle’s Best Two Players Against Forest

It was a hard-fought win by Newcastle last night when once again we were nowhere near our best form, but we managed to get all 3 points.

That’s what Newcastle have to do this season and the lads have done very well to get 17 wins in the first 24 games – 8 wins at home and 9 wins away.

And it was that man Dwight Gayle again who scored two goals out of nothing in the second half, after Forest center-back Matt Mills had been sent off on the hour mark after picking up two yellow cards very quickly.

Dwight Gayle scores his first goal after 63 minutes

The first goal from Gayle was hooked home three minutes after the Mills’ dismissal and then on 80 minutes he chested the ball in at the far post from a good Matt Ritchie cross to put Newcastle 3-1 up and the game was over.

Dwight is our Man of the Match with 51% of the vote and he now has 19 Championship goals this season already.

And it was Matt Ritchie who put Newcastle ahead in the 4th minute with a deflected free kick that found the back of the net and then Matt set up Dwight Gayle for the third goal with just ten minutes to play.

That was Matt’s sixth goal of the season and he got 25% of the vote.

Matt Ritchie – after scoring after just four minutes

Our Man of the Match scored two goals and second in the voting scored one and made one – not too bad at all.

Both Gayle and Ritchie had good games for Newcastle last night where the result was a lot more important then the performance – which was not great.

    What a shock.

Anyhoo, thought a least jib would get connection between Alun Armstrong and Tino Asprilla.

Alun Armstrong Sports Centre is on the Future industrial estate, still known as the George Reynolds, he of direct Worktops and former owner of Darlington FC who famously thought he’d signed Tino.

Jib I’m disappointed in your Google malfunction.

Next up – spot the connection between Boris Johnson and Samuel Pepys.

You’ve made up for your lapse jib, correct on both counts. You could also have said they both have been in the same city although not at the same time obviously.

How about we just club together to get an Amazon drone to drop a parachute with a stepladder into their ground? Don’t see the need to waste money on them.

You will never see a more play-acting than Forest, I assure you. Although the defending for Forest’s equaliser was woeful, no one dared to challenge their dreadlocked no. 17, who went down quicker than a prostitute’s kegs. Likewise, their no.22 – a massive bald sh!t whose name I never cared to find out – went down when his aura was compromised.

We didn’t play well at all but it was Forest’s negativity – and trying to use Wednesday’s ploy of getting the home crowd to turn on their players – that resulted in the weirdest, horriblest game I’ve seen.

May Forest f@ck off and die in 2017. You will not be missed, you c@nts.

Oh, and Gayle’s unbelievably sh!t 2nd goal was the icing on the revenge cake.

    Woot!

The tickets I bought for Blackburn haven’t arrived at mine in the post. Does anyone know if the box office will be open on Monday even though it’s a bank holiday?

Tough on Boro to loose two goals in a minute and to loose to the Manure is rough as it would have put even more pressure on the Mackems and Swansea and Palace the peoples choice for relegation.

I know it’s a disaster! Don’t know whether they’ve posted them to the wrong address. Does anyone know whether the box office is open on Monday? Might just have to drive down to Blackburn with ID and show them the email confirming the sale.

Have you read Claire Tomalin’s book on Pepys, The Unequalled Self? Her description of Pepys’s operation for ‘the stone’ brings tears to the eyes!

That sounds to me as if the Swans have resigned themselves to relegation and the plan is to regroup in the Championship and try and come back up.

Clement seems like a good choice to me: Young, innovative, progressive… certainly more “ambitious” than Pardew, Giggs, or Coleman.
