Blackburn Manager Bemoans His Lack Of Players

Blackburn are coming off a very good performance at Huddersfield, when the home side equalised in the 94th minute otherwise Blackburn would have had their first win since they beat us on November 26th,

So the Newcastle team will expect a tough game this afternoon at Ewood Park and we think it will not be easy in any way.

The 1-1 draw at Huddersfield ended a poor run of four defeats for Blackburn and they are playing the game a short 48 hours after the game on Saturday and don’t have enough fit players to rotate their team much.

Owen Coyle – Blackburn manager

It seems that manager Owen Coyle will need to field much the same team he played at the Terriers since he doesn’t have the “luxury” of rotating players that Rafa Benitez has at Newcastle.

The Blackburn manager has been talking to the Lancashire Telegraph before the game this afternoon:

“If we show the discipline that we did at Huddersfield then we know that there is a goal threat there.”

“We are back at Ewood against Newcastle and we want the fans to be with us and I think a performance like the one at Huddersfield will help with that.”

“We know that if we keep putting in those performances, playing like we did at Huddersfield, then the wins will come to help move us up the table.”

“For us it’s important we start to build some momentum and start moving up the table, which we will do.”

“It was quite galling because if we had got the three points then we would have almost have got out of the relegation zone.”

“I said to the players that if you offer that much in games then we will pick up points moving forward.”

“Newcastle are a first class team who spent in the summer and they have the luxury of rotating their players.”

“We don’t, we had young kids on the bench because of the people we had missing through injury, suspension and unavailability – but we’ll get on with it.”

“Ending a run of defeats was massive psychologically because you didn’t want to be coming off, regardless of the performance, without any points.”

A majority of fans think we will this game this afternoon – we hope they are right.

I’m getting a bit sick of hearing sad managers trotting out this myth that we spent hugely to ‘win the league’. It’s not true, we did shrewd business, selling off our own assets, assets that would have depreciated in the championship, and spent some of the NET money from that business. What do they want, a transfer embargo on relegated teams ffs?

This will be the same Blackburn that the Venkys (?) invested cash in then . It’s how you spend it that counts.

I note they are OK about releasing 6900tickets to the away team and raking in that money at the expense of having their home support completely drowned out by the Toon army.
Let’s see if this tool bemoans the greater suppor ‘one team cities’ get, after the game?

I meant home tickets, but as usual purchasers must be on their database and have a buying record. It is truly amazing that clubs would rather die a slow death than change their ticketing policy and charging £30 for championship relegation matches. Or am I showing my measly-ness?!!

In simple terms if the Toon get promoted they will get the first instalment of PP :-

Selective amnesia is to be expected at your age I guess and would perhaps explain a lot of your lack of footballing knowledge and insight, though I expect that has been lacking for a long time, if indeed not permanently.

Sky have got their scheduling wrong !
The early game should be Sunlun at home to the bin-dippers rather than the smoggies v the Foxes.
Then we could have a good laugh before our kick-off.

You’d hope the Bindippers will sort out the SMB goal difference good and proper!
With Boro v Leicester today, then, tomorrow
    Stoke v Watford
Hippo Heed v Welsh Geordie’s True Love(not another sheep photo!!/ nor Alan Pardew)
Maybe Owen Coyle and Gollum could go head to head in the whinging jostling stakes, tomorrow?
