Italian outlet Tuttosport are reporting today that 23 year-old Torino striker Josef Martinez could be ready to join Newcastle.
The outlet is reporting that he is choosing between whether to join Newcastle or German club Hamburg.
The 37 times capped Venezuelan International (9 goals) can play up front as an out-and-out striker or out on the left, but this would seem to go against Rafa Benitez’ drive to bring in British based players.

But the injury today to striker Aleksandar Mitrovic could force Rafa to bring in at least one new striker in January, with 24 year-old Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson having been the number one target, but it’s very unlikely that Bournemouth are willing to sell their player in January.
Josef started his career at Caracas in 2010 and he made his debut in August of that year against Estudiantes de Meridahere and he played there for a couple of seasons before moving to Switzerland where he joined Young Boys in January of 2012 on a four year deal.
He made his debut for Young Boys in early February 2012 against Servette FC and stayed in Switzerland for a couple of years and while there spent some time out on loan at Thun, where he scored 8 goals in 18 appearances.
The 5ft 7ins tall striker joined Torino in the summer of 2014 where he has played 74 times with 13 goals.
