Strange Report About Newcastle Player

Turkish newspaper Fanatik are reporting that Turkish club Basaksehir and Chelsea are in negotiations over a loan deal for Christian Atsu – who just so happens to be on loan at Newcastle for the season.

So a good question would be how is it possible for Basaksehir to take Atsu on loan this month, when he’s contracted to Newcastle for the season?

Christian Atsu – after scoring for Newcastle against Cardiff City

Atsu has done quite well at Newcastle and certainly Rafa Benitez will keep on loan for the season with the Newcastle manager still to make a decision on the Ghanaian International on whether to sign him full time next summer.

The Turkish report is that Instanbul-based Basakshir’s loan offer includes a buy-out clause and fee should they decide to keep the 25-year-old once he joins them on loan this month.

Weird.

Christian has made 18 appearances for Newcastle with 3 goals and we should probably take the Turkish report with a rather large pinch of salt.

Jail will be back just as soon as he’s found his missing pair of rose tinted spectacles. Have no fear.

Tom Carroll is an interesting option. A couple years ago it would have been a no brainer going for him but he has stagnated considerably and has not had much playing time in a couple years.

might be worth a loan with a option to buy but not worth the risk at 8m spurs are looking for without the loan first

According to player info on nufc.com
Christian Atsu MID Ghanaian 10.01.1992 Loaned 05.2017
They are normally correct so we have definitely loaned him all season. I would imagine this is inaccurate journalism and it is another Chelsea player.

he needs more playing time but certainly think he is of the playmaker type. Get him, Ben Osborne and Tom Cairney. Them 3 can help us get the job done this season.

I’ve come to the conclusion that in this month, we need to sign players with only one intent and that is to help us get promoted and nothing more.

Then in the summer, we will have to completely reshape the squad, in order to make us a real force in the prem, building on a spine of Darlow, Yedlin, Lascelles, Shelvey, Ritchie, Gayle

Yeah agree, it’s a risk. Just thought it’s an interesting option that another poster brought up. He has the passing ability but lacks physicality and consistency in a game. Plus I would question his mentality as he has seemed to be quite happy being on the fringes of the team. Wouldn’t pay £8 million.

If Cairney is the one that makes fulham “tick” then we desperately need him, 2 playmakers in the side would cause damage and would provide good cover, although i’d say cairney is a bit more of an “advanced playmaker” as in he plays higher up the field

I would only take cairney from the three. I think he can make the step up to the premier league.

I wouldn’t exactly just add championship standard players just to sell them in the summer. Too many changes in the squad is not always a good thing. I do agree that we need to improve the team with players who can play in this league but I would prefer to go for those who should be able to make the step up.

Personally, the likes of Kasey Palmer would be good additions. He’s playing well for Huddersfield as a #10 and is one of their better players. With more game time he’ll be able to step up a league as he has the quality.

But thinking about it there will need to be some serious money spent in the summer to prepare us.

Villa getting Lansbury is a smart move for them, pity we didn’t try for him. Despite him being a diva.

Sounds like there’s a fair amount of players in the ACON wanting the tournament to be played at seasons end not smack bang in the middle
