Rafa’s Comments On Transfers, Mitrovic, Tiote, Brentford

Rafa Benitez has just given his press conference for the game against Brentford tomorrow afternoon at Griffin Park and hopefully we can get our first win of 2017 in that game.

Rafa Benitez – just completed his press conference

Here are some of the initial comments Rafa has made in his meeting with the press this afternoon and he coveral several topics:

“We are working hard, trying to find the right players for us.”

“We have brought back Sammy and Sterry but we are still working to find new players.”

“I said in August and now, Cheick has had a lot of clubs asking.” “Now we have two or three who are really interested.”

“I was talking with Mitrovic – he’s progressing, but he will take time – normally they say two or three weeks, we think he’ll be fine.”

“We know Brentford are a good team who play good football, especially at home.”

“The Reading defeat proves this competition is difficult. Relegated teams rarely go up but we’re doing well and must stay focused”

“The competition in the division is so difficult – anything can happen.” “We have to fight until the last month.”

“We have to stay calm, concentrate and work as hard as possible.”

Only about 60% of Newcastle fans think we win this game tomorrow at Griffin Park, which is not very high.

    Runaway,
Is English your first language or did you grow up speaking something else?

Good result for us last night. Hopefully Derby beat Leeds tonight and Huddersfield go to Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow. Brighton have a difficult game away at Preston.
So it could be a very good win tomorrow fingers crossed anyway.

TOF’s, you’re probably lurking out there, so I’ll post this. I’ve defended you in the past and still think you’re entitled to your opinion. We all are. I said last night that there is no point in this window, buying for the sake of it. I stand by that. If Rafa can’t get who he wants then you don’t buy to appease fans, unless that player improves the team. You then said how stupid I sounded, by bringing up Selz.
I must be confused, because I don’t think Selz was bought in this window. Unless you can prove me wrong – which you can’t. No manager gets every buy right. Not one. Ever.
In your rush to call Rafa ‘a fat Spaniard’ you missed the entire point I was making. This window is notoriously hard to buy who you want. We won’t sell our best players, why should anybody else, unless finances make it inevitable in order to survive.
I wasn’t talking about any other window except this one. If you could read properly, you would know that. It was written in English and easy to comprehend.
‘The fat Spaniard’? The best manager we could have ever hoped to get and you insult him in that manner. You’ve moved on from the fat Spanish waiter to now just the fat Spaniards.
Not only did you get the entire post tits up, by talking about another window, the summer one, where players are easier to buy, showing how thick you are, but to resort to insulting Rafa in childish language… I’ll say no more. I don’t have to. You do it all by yourself. Who’s a clever boy then?
