Turkish Side Interested In Signing Aleksandar Mitrovic

Fotomac are reporting today that Turkish side Besiktas are interested in signing Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Turkish club are said to be looking for a striker in the January transfer window and Fotomac are claiming the 22 year-old Newcastle striker could shortly be on his way to the Istanbul club.

Aleksandar Mitrovic in action against Blackburn Rovers

The report is that the Besiktas manager Senol Gunes needs to see Aleksandar playing before he can give an opinion on the Serbian International.

That seems really strange the club wants to sign the striker but the manager hasn’t seem him playing – has he not watched Mitrovic play for Serbia or Newcastle over the last year or so?

The report seems dubious at best, with Besiktas reported to be planning to give Mitrovic a six months deal initially.

There’s just no way Newcastle will let Aleksandar leave this January and this report seems as strange as the Turkish report in Fanatik saying that Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir want to sign Cristian Atsu on loan.

That seems strange given he is already on a season-long loan deal to Newcastle.

Take this report with another pinch of salt.

Rafa Benitez has said today in his press conference the striker could be back in a matter of weeks from the deep gash he suffered in his knee last Saturday at Birmingham City.

Comments welcome.

This Mitrovic story says it all about this window. Could it be further from possibility? And their manager hadn’t even seen him play? Talk about BS stories. It really sums up the window perfectly.

    Interesting story above.

RonalDinho Gaucho (he’s the goofy one) has become a bit of a footballing whore since he left the Serie A in 2013.

According to this Brazilian journo who has no reason to lie – NUFC tried to sign him last winter but he wanted $2.8 million per month and the deal was called off.

Bobbylee/Toonces, re: Depay, I dont for a minute think he would come (only in my dreams!). It would be nice to be linked to someone of his standard though; who would improve our side in an instant. He’s in the right situation for us to maybe take advantage! Jose isnt bothered about him, he’d be loved up in the toon, just like he was in Holland…

Well done Billic for hanging him out to dry in public. He probably thought he could down tools on the sly, get his move and no fans would find out about it until he’d left. He probably expected his manager to tow the party line and keep it in house.

    Shit one eh lol

What a shame clubs couldn’t afford to say, well we’ll see if a year training with the U18’s gets your appetite to play for us back.

I was very interested to read on our third round demises the other day, apparently Pardew overseen the one in January 2010 and Mclaren fielded a weakened team against a title chasing Leicester, or was it Leicester that fielded a weakened team because they were about to win the league.

It wasnt clear which way round but I distinctly remember us being in the Championship in 2010 while Pardew was shagging his captains missus and was it not John Carver that put out a pi$$ take of a team against bottom of the table Leicester, but what do I know.
