Winger Enjoying Life At Newcastle – Keen To Progress

Ghanasoccernet.com have been covering the strange goings on with  Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir, who are said to be negotiating with Chelsea for Christian Atsu to move to them on loan in January with an option to buy.

The negotiations are even said to be at an advanced stage – according to a report in Turkish outlet Fanatik.

Wonder if anybody has told Newcastle about that?

Cristian Atsu – enjoying life at Newcastle

Ghanasoccernet.com are reporting today that Cristian is not keen to move to any club in Turkey.

This is what a source has told them about Cristian:

“Christian Atsu has no plans of leaving England at the moment.” “He has no interest in joining any team in Turkey.”

“He is enjoying his life at Newcastle United at the moment and wants to continue with his progress at the club.”

“In the worse case scenario, he will stay in the top leagues of Europe.”

Christian is on loan for the season at Newcastle with Rafa Benitez still to decide whether he wants to make the loan permanent.

Rafa will probably wait until the end of the season before he makes his decision on that, when hopefully we are back in the Premier League.

However Cristian is very popular on Tyneside and has scored 3 good goal in 18 appearances for us.

Currently he is at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ghana squad in Gabon and the tournament kicks off tomorrow..

Atsu is a good player but is not a first choice player in the Championship so why would we buy him, if we get promoted surely we want players to start every game.

Same as you and pretty much everyone else on here comrade Hibbit. All for the love of the club.

Ghana open their AFCON against my Uganda so hopefully Atsu left the good form back on Tyneside!

    Kimbo,
Is it possible to have a group of players that start every game?

Made a point earlier about Wagner.
Big return for no money spent.
Now a debate about the wage bill.
Well, I can tell you this. The wage bill was significant.
    It still is.

    Incentives.
Some years ago I heard Kenny Burns talking about winning the european cup with Forest. He said it was all incentive driven. Get into the final and 60% of the revenue goes to the players or on those lines.

Cloughie often took players who had under achieved elsewhere.

We can’t do that. To get a 12 million pound player to the club we have to put them on a fixed wage, say 50K a week for 4 years.

I am convinced some want to leave from the moment they get hear. They come for the contract which underwrites the rest of their career.

Some seem to be deliberately poor so they can leave.
    Total de-motivator.
