Here are the video highlights of yesterday’s game at griffin Park which seems to play around the world for overseas fans.
Newcastle hung on after Daryl Murphy put us ahead with a great header after that man Dwight Gayle scored his 20th goal of the season but then Dwight was taken off after 29 minutes with a hamstring injury.
It was a great 3 points for Newcastle but we did carry some luck in those last 20 minutes with 9 minutes of stoppage time but that was because of the guts shown by all our players.
It’s very tough wins like these that can get us promoted.

Comment #44I very much hope it is bollix but it’s unusual for Nufc.com to comment on a story when it holds no weight.

Comment #46Would you put it past our ‘orrible owner to drug Rafa at a party then get KB to have him photographed in compromising positions to enforce his will, Pablo Escobar was a kindly saint compared to the meglomaniac running our club!

Comment #47I don’t think it’s in Ashley’s make up to miss an opportunity to make more money. If he sniffs a chance to get a few quid he will not be able to resist even if it means rocking the boat. I have to confess this is worrying me now as like I said earlier there is rarely smoke without fire.
Ashley is totally ruthless and selfish when there is money at stake.

Comment #49I don’t think Rafa and Ashley have had much direct contact with each other since Rafa took over. For Ashley to be showing up and poking around in transfers and disagreeing with the manager does not bode well.

Comment #51I think there is an awful amount of paranoia being caused by a tabloid story that most of us agree is bull. Recko we would all do well to just step back and watch rather than react to something that we are speculating ‘may happen’. The sky might fall on my head tomorrow, but I don’t think it will.

Comment #55The guy that wrote it – Neil Moxley – seems a right scrote – Villa and Birmingham fans have accused him of making up shit about their clubs at various times.

Comment #57That doesn’t surprise me Jib, tabloids like to sell papers, when there is no news, they make it up. The Sunday tabs are probs the worst. News Of The World phone hacking for example.

Comment #58Just think of the backlash he’d get if this was actually true. He’d be hanging from the Tyne Bridge in 4 sports direct bags for life

Comment #60It would appear that the feud twixt Moxley and Benitez harks back to Rafa’s days at Liverpool (May 2008) when he tried to lure Gareth Barry away from Villa which caused a rift between Martin ONeill and Barry.
Barry eventually joined Man City but Moxley blamed Rafa for unsettling him.

I’m sure Benitez will be very diplomatic at his presser on Tuesday but folk should be aware of the sub – plot in all this kerfuffle.

His father who was a hack as well – supported Birmingham – he was an alchoholic and died when Moxley was young – his step father was a Villan – so he is one of those who support both .
I’ll give you a cryptic clue for the hotel he usually stays in Newcastle – policeprick.

Comment #63If Benitez has been looking to spend significant money in an environment where you have to pay top dollar, then yeah the story may well have legs, although everything he has been saying to the press is to the contrary. He’s been consistently talking about how you need to be circumspect in a sellers market. It seems to me far more likely that manager and owner are on the same page. Ashley appearing at recent games probably underlining this also.
