James McCarthy Could Be Off To Sunderland

Another day – another rumor – and with Everton keen to sign Sunderland center-back Lamine Kone this month, the Sun are reporting today that Everton  are willing to offer Newcastle target James McCarthy as bait in a part exchange deal.

Everton were very keen to sign Kone in the summer and the player even wanted to join the Toffees, but new former Everton manager David Moyes blocked the move – and maybe he could do the same thing again.

James’ McCarthy – offered in part exchange for one

Current Everton manager Ronald Koeman really seems to rate the Ivory Coast center-back, but it depends on whether Moyes wants to let the 27 year-old leave the Stadium of Light half way through the season.

McCarthy has no future at Everton so he is available but it will depend a lot on if he sees his future at a club that has battled relegation for the last several years – every season.

This comes as yesterday the betting on McCarthy moving to Newcastle and Rafa Benitez intensified and Newcastle became the odds-on favorite to sign the Glasgow-born 41 times capped Republic of Ireland International.

What a difference a day makes.

Would he want to go to a club that looks increasingly likely to be relegated of one that looks increasingly likely to be promoted ?

Benitez asked if he was still in control of transfers: “Yeah, nothing has changed.” He also said it was a “cheeky question”. #nufc

I am in complete Shock that a player we have been linked with through no news group I can find is possibly going to another club. How does this happen, I am just saying that maybe Stephen King is writing this blog while Ed is away on vacation. I mean this is some great story lines with twists and crazy plots with a little horror thrown in for good measure.
