This Could Be Rafa’s Team For Birmingham – Six Changes

It would be very good if we can win out next two games – tomorrow night in the replay against Birmingham in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and then on Saturday against Rotherham United in the Championship.

That will make it three wins in a row and maybe we can then go on a good winning run.

But the problem we have is we lost three more players to injury on Saturday although only Vurnon Anita seems badly injured and his ankle injury could keep him out about six weeks according to Rafa Benitez today.

Rafa has only 16 fit first team players to choose from for tomorrow night.

The manager will want to rotate his players and he has had four U23 players training with the squad this week and Rafa has said they could even play in the game tomorrow night.

He will want to rest some players so they are fresh for the game against Rotherham United on Saturday.

Though they are bottom of the league, we know that absolutely nothing is certain in the Championship and we will need to play well on Saturday to win that game.

The good news is we hope to see Jonjo Shelvey playing again after his five game suspension, although he is unlikely to play the whole game.

Here is a possible starting eleven for tomorrow night in a game that must have a result, so there will overtime and penalties if necessary, but let’s hope that is not necessary.

Sels
Yedlin Lascelles (c) Hanley Haidara
Shelvey Colback
Ritchie Perez Lazaar
Murphy

That’s six changes to the side that started on Saturday at Brentford.

If Jesus Gamez is fit he could start the game at right back tomorrow night.

What team would you start tomorrow night?

“Christian Benteke has turned the tie around single-handedly. He takes an Andros Townsend cross down superbly and powers home.”

A large section of SAFC fans think Defoe is crazy for staying with them and they think he should leave.. It’s all rosey owa there

On a brighter note well done Sutton.

Perhaps we could swap welshgeordie9’s brain with a primitive mammals, to get a bit more sense out of him.

I think he scored five PL goals in a row for us once, that’s getting towards record breaking stuff.

Tell us how you knew Ashley had reinstated his buying policy by the way Rafa walked off the pitch at Brentford.

    Jibberish,
Tell me where you got your information from that told you Pardew managed us in the Championship and Mclaren, Ranieri or Pearce fielded a weakened team against a title winning or relegation threatened Leicester to justify throwing a cup tie, you ignoramus!

    I don’t think he’ll risk starting Shelvey
    He’ll be on the bench
With the players available Rafa may even play 4-3-3 – he’s done it before in cupties.

    Jibberish,
    Eh! Exactly,
In trying to justify our throwing of the cups the other day you said a weakened team was fielded because Leicester were about to win the league, you didn’t mention who fielded the wrakened team though, you said it was Mclaren in charge, but his third round defeat was away to Watford, it was Pearce’s relegation threatened side that we went out to, we wete also in the Championship in January 2010 you dullard!

Well, one last thing on Costa. While the money seems outrageous, it’s how he uses it that is most important. You can do a lot of good, for yourself, family, community etc with that sort of money. He needs to continue to do his job at Chelsea first and foremost though. He can hardly complain about the way he’s been treated there, and he’s on contract.

Just get the game won wioth the strongest team available. That includes Darlow over Sels. Then take Shelvey off after an hour. The last thing we need is 120 minutes. This tie should have been put to bed in the first leg.
