Leeds Lose – Newcastle Now 9 Points Clear Of 3rd Placed Side

Leeds United were surprisingly beaten 3-2 at Barnsley  tonight in the late game and they drop down to 4th place in the league table with Huddersfield Town moving up into 3rd place with 49 point.

That’s s full 9 points behind Newcastle and if we take our superior goal different into account the gap is up to 10 points – the highest it’s ever been.

Brighton and Reading play their games in hand on Tuesday night, but even if Reading win their game in hand they will still be 9 points behind Newcastle with 49 points.

So we now have a slight cushion in the Championship in an automatic promotion place along with Brighton & Hove Albion.

Rafa Benitez – Newcastle manager

Brighton are one point behind us on 57 points after our 4-0 home win against Rotherham today – but they have their game in hand at home to Cardiff City on Tuesday night and can go back to the top with a win.

Reading are at home to Fulham on Tuesday night in their make-up game.

Here’s the top six positions after this weekend’s games in the Championship.

10 if you factor in the far superior goal difference. A very good day all round.

And Leeds go to Huddersfield in a fortnight.

Great advert to any players thinking about joining us. We’re a team sitting at the top of the league, winning games and destined for promotion if we keep pushing on. Add in a world class manager and unbelievable support and it’ll be hard for any prospective signings to say no.

Went for 5-1 but should have factored in Darlow. Even hen he’s shyte he’s great! Makes a cock-up then a worldie – did he do that on purpose because he was bored?
    4-0 will do!!
Thought Hayden MoM, but plenty of candidates!
Clark excellent, Yedlin is a real flyer and some great moves and touches, Ritchie has found his hat!
