The Skills And Tremendous Speed Of Mo Barrow – Video

Here’s some video of Mo Barrow and the lad has fantastic speed down that right wing – he could well be our first signing in January.

He looks like Usain Bolt running down that right wing!

Bloody he’ll Ed, slow down mate. So, go back three posts if you’d like to read my take on Barrow and Rafa. Some people seriously should.

In a nutshell. This kid is good. Very fast. Needs a few tweaks that Rafa can provide. Trust Rafa’s judgement and stop moaning until we’ve given him a chance. (But in much more detail) 🙂 MUCH more. Got carried away a bit by some negativity that has swamped us since he was first mentioned.

Just had a thought maybe shelvey knows something about the lad and has had a word with rafa
might have had a good link up in training or summit
    clutching at straws here!

Never heard of the kid until recent rumors. Video show’s the boy certainly has pace. Imaging being a defender and him and Yedlin running at you and overlapping. You’d end up on your arse or left for dead!!

Seems this rumour has legs – a bit like this lad really – because it’s mentioned on the SS yellow banner. Let’s see teams play offside with him in the side! Granted he does need the odd tweak, but who better than Rafa to do so? Trust Rafa people, he hasn’t let us down yet. He likes to spot potential and improve it. This lad has what it takes with the right coaching. He could turn him into something special for a mere five million. When Rafa says he’s in charge of transfers, believe him. This is his choice and he thinks he can improve him with good coaching. So do I. Give him a chance before writing him off.

Bobby……… Having read your post, I agree that Rafa must have seen something he likes and that he thinks he can work with. However with someone of Barrow’s age he needs to be more than a work in progress so maybe a bit of Rafa’s tweaking will see him make an impact.

We have several players hovering in the background who really need a run of games to try and establish themselves. Clarke and Hayden have progressed with each game but would this kid get enough game time hic his what he appears to have been lacking.

I’ve seen him play. I watch virtually every game on TV being a football addict. He’s got pace and skill and I thought a couple of times I’d take him here. He’s not the finished article, but look what Rafa’s done with others he’s brought in? How many thought Murphy was a waste of money at 33? Clark? Yedders? Look at Shelvey until Rafa took over. Gayle was never ever a prolific striker. He is now. Trust Rafa. His pick. He’ll have a dossier on him somewhere.

not sure Rafa will have seen him play other than a few highlights and the odd vid
he must be going on one of his scouts opinion a guy he trusts and is prepared to have a small gamble on his recommendation
if its a loan with an option to buy than there’s very little risk and possibly a lot to gain

Betty, he’s not far short as it is. Just a bit of coaching on the final delivery. At five million what is there to lose? He’s turned all our players into better versions of themselves. This is a lad of 25. Just coming into his prime and with some intensive coaching he could be something really special. I trust Rafa to do it. He can negate any offside trap, he’s that fast. Would Rafa bother if he didn’t think he could make him into something? He’s an exciting player who could get better. Worth the gamble.

Bobby……… Obviously it’s more interesting to buy someone with improvement in them as oppose to someone like Ritchie who is what he is, perfectly capable of doing a more than adequate job at this level but never likely to set the PL alight due to his lack of pace, as Eddie Howe was fully aware when he offloaded him.

Betty, leave it out. The stick Welshie gets on here would you blame him? You don’t judge a player on that. We don’t even know if he goes to games do we? If not, I’ve seen him just as much. From what I’ve seen, he’s worth the gamble mate. Rafa doesn’t take people’s word on it, he watches lots of vids etc. Lives, breathes and sleeps football. It’s his choice mate, not Welshie. 🙂

Welsh papers are so sure on this release clause not sure I am either as they were quoting 10+ mill for him last summer

By the sounds of it we only want a loan till summer so not sure he’s being looked at for the future either…might simply be the case that Rafa can’t get who he wants but we need a winger in and he’s the best of what we can get, dare I say the cheap option

I honestly think Rafa can improve this lad and make him something special. Great speed. Decent ball control. Not bad finishing either. Maybe the final ball lets him down sometime, but that can be coached. This is Rafa mate. He’s improved every one of our players, he can improve him. At the very least he’s worth giving a chance to before writing him off. Imo anyway.

Bobby…… Sharpen up soft lad. Bit of craic with our Welsh compatriot does him no harm.

The other serious concern regarding Barrow is that Clement is no mug and supposedly a good coach, which he appears to be judging by the transformation he has made there already. He must have seen plenty of the kid in training so why would he want to get rid if he thought he was potentially a special player?

Hibbett, agree mate, but Arma’s not a winger, he’s a striker. Arma will get his chance next season, once we’re promoted. I took on board what Rafa said about experience and it being unfair to pile that pressure on a kid to provide the goals to get us up. Didn’t agree at the time and still convinced he’d have done it for us, but I trusted Rafa and we’re top. He was right in that sense.

Rafa definitely works with an inner circle of scouts guys he has a 1oo% faith in who do the foot work and draw his attention to plays he should be monitoring
just not enough hours in the day otherwise

Betty, he gives it back mate and this is part of it. He’s having a bit of fun with the blog with his ‘yes he is, no he isn’t’ the way the blog has fun with him. Who can blame Him? You definitely don’t decide a player on his recommendation any more than you do on ours. He’s entitled to his opinion but I wouldn’t buy a player on it! 🙂 This is Rafa’s choice. The first one I’ve seen on SS yellow banner which is generally a good pointer. All I’m saying is if Rafa fancies him, then trust his judgement and at least give the lad a chance.

Can’t say I have seen him play other than a few minutes here on there and on TV where you do not get the entire story. I could not agree with Bobbybee (on this at least, e.g. politics may be different) in that you must have faith in the manger to choose the talent. As for the comments that Rafa has probably not seen him, I would disagree. There is no way that he would not have good quality scouting video to review and make an educated evaluation. A far better evaluation than some fans who caught a glimpse of him performances on the tv. Again, obviously Rafa is not infallible, but the benefit to him, especially if the fee is what is purported. We do not know Rafa’s full vision for the remainder of this year and the one s(hopefully) to follow, but I can only presume he has one and I will go with it. Also, if signed, I agree with all those who said that a positive attitude towards him and the entire team by the home supporters during the game can only be a positive. On here, it is sometimes fun to be contrary and even a bit cynical or negative, but at the stadium, upbeat is better.

Weirdly the new president of the Gambia is called Adama Barrow.
