Here’s some video of Mo Barrow and the lad has fantastic speed down that right wing – he could well be our first signing in January.
He looks like Usain Bolt running down that right wing!

An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #43I actually like us to get Barrow instead on Andre. Reasons are Andre phucked us over and went to Palace thinking the grass was greener. Barrow is fast as hell and has some awesome skill getting past defenders, and can score goals, with Rafa’s help he would make him a way better player, funny enough the exact same thing he did with Andre.

Referring to Barrow ‘……very little risk and possibly a lot to gain’.
The deal, if it goes through, has the stamp of Fat Ash all over it.
I just hope that Rafa is ok with it all.

Comment #45Hibbett, agreed mate, but he’ll have taken that on board and then watched vids himself. That’s why he wants the final say. Otherwise his scouts would be getting the final say and as much as he trusts them, he likes to watch himself from what I’ve heard over the years. He’s meticulous. He’ll have seen enough to decide he can improve him and on that alone, I trust him to get it right. He’s done pretty good so far mate. Took average players and improved them. Took good players and made them better.
My point overall is that, having read some of the posts, we should trust Rafa’s judgement and at least give this lad a chance. Too many people writing him off without even seeing him! That’s just crazy and frankly, a bit disrespectful to a manager who’s turned our club upside down and fixed what was badly broken.

i live in yarm and my neighbor works at Boro
i was taking to him last week about Arma and just happened to say i thought he had gone to the wrong club
a club that didn’t suit his style or play to his strong points
his opinion was that Arma was at exactly the right kind of club to improve his all round game
everyone knows what Arma can do but its the parts of the game he doesnt do so well that loan at Barnsley is trying to improve if he can come back a more rounded player but not lose his edge i would be totally proved wrong about Barnsley

Comment #52We gave Townsend the chance to revive his career, then he turned his back on us for Palace. He tried hard to keep us up, so what, we didn’t stay up and he ran off to count his signing on bonus.
I don’t think the fans club or manager owe him a thing, they should all be apprehensive as he’s jumped shio once already, if he wants to come back he should put in a transfer request and take a pay cut. Plus no BS interviews claiming his love for the club or the area.
As I’ve said today I don’t want another winger, Ritchie Aaron’s Goufran Atsu Roberts Ameobi and I’m sure there’s others that can play there and ones I haven’t even thought of.
We have no AM options and I’m not to fussed on Perez or Diame as a 10.
I trust Rafas judgement on the players, I just can’t see why a winger would be a priority for him. Smokescreen for different players at same clubs and lazy journalists adding 2+2 maybe?
I don’t believe we’ll sign Townsend or Barrow in this or the next window, if by chance we do I’d go for B, stuff Townsend!

Comment #54Maybe Rafa knows that Ritchie doesn’t have the pace on the right for the premier league? In which case he may try to transition him into the number 10 role? You don’t need pace in that role and I feel like Ritchie would be very capable there. Ofcourse this is speculation but I guess we’ll see if Barrow is brought in. Maybe he’ll try and line us up like this once Atsu is back.
____________Darlow
Yedlin_Lascelles_Clark_Dummett
________Diame_Shelvey
Barrow____Ritchie_____Atsu
____________Gayle

Comment #55Mag52, so when Rafa said nothing has changed, I’m still in charge of transfers, he was lying then? So he too has sold out to Ashley and is happy just to take his money? Threw his integrity out the window for his thirty pieces of silver? I get why you don’t like Ashley, but this idea that he’s picking transfers is frankly ludicrous. Your hatred for Ashley is taking control of your senses mate. Rafa knows what he likes and he’s bought players a lot of us would shake our heads at, but he’s been right. This is his choice, not Ashley’s. Ashley has probably never even heard of the lad. I get that you despise Ashley and that’s fine, but by saying Ashley is undermining Rafa is saying Rafa has sold out – and that mate, is badly disrespectful to his integrity.

Comment #57WWSBRD, don’t know what your not watching but from that Video he looked pretty skillful and I am sure there was a few goals in there too. Yes may have been lesser opposition but skill is skill and goals are goals. I trust Rafa see’s something in him if its true he is going after him. I said the same thing about Andre the wantaway last year that I liked him when we signed him for the exact same reasons and got ridiculed for it. But he didn’t turn out to bad me thinks, but he left for greener pastures and that to me is the ultimate death for a player.

Comment #58Benitez didn’t say recently he was in charge of transfers did he? It was something along the lines of “nothing has changed”, which doesn’t give a whole lot away.
It appears that Benitez has the final say on transfers, but when it comes to funds, age, wages etc, not a whole lot is very clear.

Comment #61Hibbett, can’t agree with your mate. Might as well play him at right back and use the same reasoning. The problem at Barnsley is he’s making the runs, but nobody is picking those runs. Can you imagine those runs with Shelvey on the ball? He’d score a hatful. How being missed out with long high balls improves his game, which is all about goals, is beyond comprehension. The one run he made that was picked out, resulted in a goal from his cross the other night. Why bother playing him if you don’ t intend to use his football brain? Did you see how many times he pulled up in frustration after being ignored by the man on the ball? I can see how it might improve his temper, learning to be ignored, but not much else. I would rather he was somewhere he could hone his skills, not blunt them mate.

Comment #62Having seen the video clips of Barrow he can move for sure but seems mostly to push the ball past defenders and overtakes them – which is useful as we often hear talk of getting in behind defences which Rafa likes.
If he arrives then I would think that’s not great news for Sammy in the pecking order but time will tell.
Hope his ball control is good to make the final telling passes to Gayle, Ritchie and Murphy.
If the guy thinks he get out of Swansea and wants to play for us then good for him.

Comment #64Not seen much of him so no opinion but I’m going to predict that he will not play many games for us, if any, and will go back to Swansea when the loan is up.
We are more likely to sign Atzu.
I say this mainly cos I don’t think with the squad as it is that his signing is a necessity.
Now a good MF is another matter, but I doubt that will happen now.

Comment #66Ancient, nothing has changed doesn’t give a lot away? How? It says that what he said previously still stands. Unless you’re specifically looking for reasons to whine about Ashley again. Nothing has changed. Rafa is in charge of transfers. What more do you want, it written in blood? Rafa went to a lot of trouble to get those assurances he wanted. So when he says nothing has changed, that’s exactly what it means. Unless you can show us different, with your obvious insight into what’s going on? You can’t get any more open than saying nothing has changed. You believe what you want – you clearly do anyway – but I know what it means without looking for double speak where none exists. This is Rafa’s project. If it changes, expect him to walk. He hasn’t. That speaks, volumes. I get why you hate Ashley. Fine. But you’re basically accusing Rafa of lying mate and that insults his integrity and is uncalled for and totally unfounded with zero evidence. Hate Ashley to your hearts content, but don’t insult the man who has changed the club beyond recognition. It’s uncalled for mate. I honestly don’t see how ‘nothing has changed’ can mean anything else. He’s still in charge of transfers. You’re allowing your hatred for one man to spoil the good times the club is having. Top of the table. Top scorers. Best manager. Happiest the fans have been for years. Just enjoy it.

Comment #71Hibbett, I see what he’s saying and yes, to an extent it might help him. Just me personally I want to see him improving what his game is based on. We all know strikers live on confidence. I can’t see how this is helping his confidence mate? Maybe Rafa is doing it deliberately, but his game is about scoring goals. That’s what you want from your striker. Unless you want an Emily Heskey, who couldn’t score but made it easier for those around him. The thing is Arma can score for fun. It would be criminal if he lost that killer instinct from lack of chances. I do get what you want he means and even said something similar to my son, but I just love to see him scoring goals. Bit selfish maybe. 🙂 Time will tell mate. I doubt it’s doing him too much harm, but it must be frustrating for him. I’d rather he was cover for Gayle, but my judgement is probably biased. 🙂

Comment #76Ancient, because Rafa said so mate, ages ago. He wanted those assurances and said he’d got them. Since then he’s never mentioned it again because why bother? Once said it stands unless it changes. He said nothings changed and called it a cheeky question. Not a tricky question, I listened carefully. A cheeky question because nothing has changed. I can’t even be arsed with this. You believe your twisted version, I’ll believe exactly what he said. You sound desperate for Ashley to ruin this, so you can say ‘I was right, look at me’. Well maybe he will ruin it, but that hasn’t happened yet and you’re just looking for stuff that simply isn’t there. Wallow in your misery, your choice. I’ll just enjoy it thanks.
