This Could Be Rafa’s Team For Oxford – 9 Changes

We’ll take a shot at what team Rafa will play tomorrow at Oxford United in the FA Cup 4th round, always remembering we have home games coming up in the Championship against QPR and Derby Country next Wednesday and Saturday respectively.

Rafa will likely play almost a complete second team tomorrow and it could resemble the team that played well in the replay against Birmingham City last week.

Stuart Findlay – likely to start tomorrow

Here’s a team that Rafa could start tomorrow:

Sels
Gamez Hanley Findlay Haidara
Barlasar Colback
Ritchie Shelvey (c) Lazaar
Mitrovic

That’s nine changes from the side that started against Rotherham United last Saturday with only Shelvey and Ritchie keeping their places and the other nine players being rested.

We think Sels will be in goal despite Rob Elliot now being fit and we’d like to see Jesus Gamez start the game.

Hanley and Findlay played so well together in central defense in the Birmingham replay that they are likely to get their chance again tomorrow.

Young Daniel Barlaser and the experienced Jack Colback should be the central two with Jonjo Shelvey pushing forward into the number 10 slot – and Jonjo will again be the captain for the day with Jamaal Lascelles taking a rest.

Hopefully Mitro can start up front tomorrow if he’s fit enough, but Rafa said he had missed some training this week.

If  Mitro is not fit enough to start then Yoan Gouffran can play up front in the position he just loves to play in and he looked very good against Birmingham City and scored that great individual goal.

What would your team be for tomorrow’s game?

    Confirmed Rafa bingo

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Sels. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
    . Gamez . Hanley . Findlay . Haidara .
    . . . . . . . . . Barlasar . Tiote . . . . . . . . . . .
    . . . Yedlin . . . Shelvey . . . . . .Lazaar .
    . . . . . . . . . . . . . Mitrovic . . . . . . . . . . . .

I like much of Ed’s lineup except I’d like to see what Yedlin is like further up the pitch and think Tiote will get another chance to show himself before the end of the window. Shelvey/Barlasar might be switched around. Elliot could get a shot in net if he’s far enough back, although that would pretty much guarantee Sels will never play again.
