Sky Sports Pundit Predicts Another Newcastle Upset

What we need on Wednesday is a good win over QPR as we get back on track in the Championship and try to  forget about that terrible upset at Oxford United in the FA Cup.

But Sky Sports pundit David Prutton doesn’t think we will be able to beat QPR at home in our next game in the league this Wednesday night.

David Prutton – a response from Newcastle but not a win

This is what David has said in predicting the outcome of the game:

“Even though there were changes, every time a team loses in the manner Newcastle did at Oxford in the FA Cup, it will still have an impact. It reflects on the club.”

“The next team they put out must right that wrong, that performance and that result. I think it’s going to be tough for Newcastle against QPR.”

“We’ve seen a lot of Ollie’s team, and the game against Burton, you’d have thought “they would take three points.””

“I think we’ll see a response from Newcastle with a change of personnel, but I think QPR are a tough task. Let’s go for a draw.”

Prutton Predicts: 1-1

If Palace value Townsend at £13m and his loan fee at £2m, and Sam is willing to pay £2m for the loan of Mbemba, what is the transfer value of Mbemba?

    £13m perhaps! or perhaps not.

There is something unbalanced about this piece of gossip, roll on 11.00pm tomorrow…

There’s no guarantee we’d have won it. But you win nothing if you don’t put everything into it. As for safeguarding the players for the league, we should have played the first choice and tried to win the game as soon as possible. Rafa could always have used subs in the last third of the game. A trip to Wembley and the fa cup, or a mediocre spot in the Prem? No brainer for me.

There has always been only one objective this season.Promotion.Yes we got beat on Saturday. So what?.If Rafa had been serious about winning on Saturday ,he would have put nigh on a full strength team out.
And lets not gloss over that we have a strong squad. We don’t and it showed on Saturday. If we do get promotion we need a hell of a change in personnel.

Well said B & B. Tremendous pressure on the team selected Wednesday., especially in front of home fans without Gayle. Hope they can deliver.

    CUP GAMES

Does this mean if we go up and in the bottom half dozen come next January we field a weaker team – because we are concentrating on the league.

Could mean I could live to 100 – 62 now and never see the TOON bothering to take the cups seriously.

As far as I am concerned for the fans that travelled field your strongest team and go for it.

The way results have gone get a decent draw then we could progress a long way

There’s some news coming from Caulkin that Rafas not happy with Ashley and Charnley over this window over how he’s not been backed by money…that’s pretty worrying

I’m wondering whether many or most of those who write off Saturday with comments like “So what?” are simply Rafa apologists who won’t have a wrong word said against him. I’m sure there are lots of those fans around and it’s skewing this debate. It’s a case of “If Rafa thinks it’s right, it’s right by me.”

Looks like déjà Vue all over again with this transfer window.
Why on earth does Ashley seem to want only a loan deal for Townshend ? Can’t he pay for the player in instalments if he’s strapped for cash, like most other clubs do ?
Either he has enough confidence in Rafa’s judgement that we need Townshend for our promotion push, or he doesn’t. If he does, then for goodness sake get it done whatever way you need to, ond charge up any overspend to the pot of money we’ll get if we do get promoted.

Martoon recorded predictions for this season back in the summer. As I remember it, quite a lot were predicting a cup run with Benitez at the helm… perhaps if Benitez had been backed in the current transfer market, he wouldn’t have needed to prioritise as much.

Rafa upset at not being backed with cash? No surprise there.

Does Ashley have ambition to match Rafa’s? If he goes in the summer don’t be surprised.

This game worries me more than Saturday. I watched Qpr away at Reading a few weeks ago and they completely outfoxed them. They made an inform Reading with a very good home record look very ordinary.

Apparently so Caulkin said communication issues so I assume Rafa thought he’d have money to spend after the summer profit and that’s not the case

Hopefully it’s just a case of Rafa putting pressure on those above and we get something done before tomorrow or aye I will be pretty worried about things

Totally agree, we should have gone for the cup, should always go for the cup. I’m yet to see anything which shows a cup run has a negative effect on the team’s league performance.

People point to Wigan and Pompey going down but Wigan flirted with relegation every year and Portsmouth were a ticking time bomb given the debt they had gotten themselves into. That would have happened regardless,

For me if I was a top player at a club I would want to be playing in a cup. Not going to get medals to show people when you retire for being a mediocre mid table prem league side.

Not getting ahead of myself but I struggle to see a scenario where we don’t get automatic promotion. So why worry about resting people.

Signing Townsend now for £13m up front solves all the problems.
    We get Townsend.
    Townsend gets his move.
Allardyce gets his dosh to offset his spending.
Mwemba stays put ( or has season loan and comes back )
    Rafa happy
    Fans relieved

Caulkin has been returned to the NUFC fold and has quite good lines of communication.

It’s just that this latest little “snippet” from WWSBRD is completely made up horsedoins.
