Ghana Beaten 2-0 In AFCON Semi-Final – Atsu To Return

Christian Atsu played the whole game for Ghana tonight in the semi-final of the African Cup of Nations but they lost 2-0 to Cameroon.

Two goals in the last 20 minutes got the job done for Cameroon with Ngadew putting Cameroon ahead after 72 minutes.

And then in the third minute of stoppage time the same player added a second goal for Cameroon to reach the final which takes place on Sunday.

Christian Atsu – in Ghana colors

Cameroon will play Egypt in the final after they beat Burkina Faso 4-3 on penalties yesterday, after the scores were 1-1 after normal time and extra time.

Christian Atsu will now return to Newcastle, but is unlikely to be ready for the important home game against Derby County on Saturday.

Will be a big boost getting Atsu back.
Just like a new signing for Mash and Charnless.

That’s not the point. HTAFC’s outlay on that whole team is probably in the ball park of NUFC’s outlay on Mitro alone, whenever he was bought.

Looks like Hoots might be having his blip now, fingers crossed. Every team goes through a sticky patch, we just have to take advantage and push on.

Hopefully a Huddersfield win will spur us on against Derby because we need to be looking ahead and not over our shoulders.

Christian Atsu will not return to Newcastle but will not be ready for the important home game against Derby County on Saturday.

    What?

I know what he means really lol.

Get him on the next flight, he’ll be alright. Half an atsu equals more than a sameobi. Every day of the week.

    Two issues.

Issue 1) For some reason this joker doesn’t seem to like us. Talked shite last night on sky sports, sly little digs in his predictions and a knee slide down the corridor? What a knobber (definitely a relation of Jeffrey’s then)

    2) ‘the island’ will try his hardest to best us trying to prove a point, sending his team out to get in our faces, wind shelvey up, rough us up then hit on the counter. Can’t see them playing how they usually do. If they do then we’ll hopefully wallop them, take that stupid fcuking smirk of his stupid fcuking face ?

    Either way, he’s still shite.

My opinion – Champions? Fcuking damn right. I’d take second right now though if on offer.

I fear complacency has set in with some of our “big time” boys. Hard to get momentum going after hitting poor form.

Palmer, Kachunga, Brown. All far better than Perez. It’s complacency to be relying on the likes of Perez and Sammy in such an important season. And comolacency not to buy in January. I listened to John Anderson early in the season saying we’re nailed on and thought he was talking out of his backside.

But anyone who has alegience only to the toon
Can surely only want Brighton to win
    Do the maths.
What a load of tosh, how can wanting a team ten points behind you to beat your nearest rival mean you don’t have an allegance to the club you love?

Huddersfield absolutely destroying Brighton just shows how cruel this league is.

Jesus the scenes if mcclaren beats us, anyone know if it will be streamed anywhere?

Make SJP a cauldron of noise on Saturday, support rafa and the lads instead of getting on their back every 5 mins. It’s ridiculous even when we’re winning there’s still moans and groans. It’s only gonna make the players play worse and make it better for the opposition.

Dunk, Stephens having good season and Knockaert – poor game but a talent.

Move on mate and stop harbouring resentment. A strong, positive self-image is the best possible preparation for success and not only when it comes to being a toon fan. Mind I thought pub quizzes were a thing of the past!
By the sounds of it maybe you should give up pub quizzes as well. The toon lost to City in 1976 in the league cup and to Liverpool in the FA cup in 1974.

Posted not long after your alter ego got it completely mixed up, had one of you been drinking, like I said I never mentioned anything about cups in the seventies you devisive toad.
