Brighton Beaten 3-1 – Newcastle Remain One Point Behind

In a surprise result tonight Brighton were well beaten 3-1 away at Huddersfield so even through we only drew last night with QPR we are just one point Brighton in the league table with a better goal difference.

It’s just a pity we couldn’t have won last night and then we would have been one point ahead of them – but we mustn’t grumble too much.

Chris Hughton – Brighton Manager

All the goals came in the first half through Smith (9′ minutes), Wells (36′ minutes) and Kachunga (45’+3) for Huddersfield and Hemed (20′ minutes) for Brighton, but it was an easy win for the Terriers and they showed what a good team they have.

Brighton center-back Lewis Dunk was sent off after 67 minutes.

Here’s how things stand tonight at the top of the Championship table.

We can’t play any worse than we did against qpr so I’m optimistic we can get the win needed. I’d have taken a draw for Brighton tonight but a defeat for them keeps us in reach.

4 points ahead with a game in hand and a far superior GD is good news for us

    From previous
Its realistic to think the leagues best squad with the leagues best manager who are 1 point off top should be worried about those behind rather than wanting to take the summit again?

Yorky you do have a point but Brighton aren’t playing well at the moment so keeping them in the mix with the rest of us is important.

It basically means six of us are fighting for two automatic spots.

If Brighton get out in front then there’s five of us fighting for the one automatic spot.

I do understand where you’re coming from though.

I understand where Yorky’s coming from. I just won’t be shadowing him in the betting shop.

    Leeds and Huddersfield draw
    And us beat derby
