AshleyOut Organization Issue Perfect Statement On Rafa

Compliments to the AshleyOut.com organization for a perfect, professional and balanced statement they have issued today calling on owner  Mike Ashley to give Rafa Benitez all the assurances he needs to keep him doing a great job for Newcastle United.

They also call on all fans at St. James’ Park tomorrow to support Rafa and the lads against Derby County – we need a win in that game.

Mike Ashley – Newcastle owner

Here’s the statement they put out on Twitter.

I wonder what the odds are that the statement issued by the ashleyout campaign reaches the media and is published, this will tell us of the true intentions of the redtops, if they dont mention it in their previews of the game, iT proves they are just stirring it to destabilise the club, if they do publish it , its to sell papers

Whilst the sentiment is laudable, this statement could be counterproductive.

Why? Because it’s an open statement and Ashley will not be seen to be hostage to it. It would have better delivered out of the public domain and then escalated if needs be.

Maybe the whole thing’s down to a communication breakdown? We don’t have the full story. Let’s not forget that Shepherd said from what he’d heard, he wouldn’t have gone with the deal Palace wanted for Townsend.

Let’s hope it’s redolved before any real damage is done.
