8 First Team Players To Definitely Leave Newcastle This Summer

We saw the report in the Star today that Rafa Benitez would ditch three players this summer and the three players cited were Henri Saivet, Emmanuel Riviere and Florian Thauvin.

We agree with that and it could be that Thauvin is already a Marseille player, since he was on  a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Once the French U21 player played 12 games for the French club the transfer clause would be activated with the transfer fee bring £10M – and he’s already played 24 times for Marseilles with 5 goals.

More money for the club to spend on new players this summer.

Henri Saivet – to leave Newcastle this summer

We’re not sure if that deal is executed in January or the summer, but he will certainly not be a Newcastle player in the summer.

But there are also other players who will be sold this summer if we become a Premier League club again this summer.

Some of the more obvious players who have no future at Newcastle are Massadio Haidara, Haris Vuckic and Curtis Good.

We also believe there’s little chance of defender Kevin Mbabu, currently on loan at Young Boys in Switzerland for the season ,  staying on at Newcastle for next season.

And we are expecting (hoping) that Cheick Tiote’s transfer to a Chinese Super League club finally goes ahead this weekend – that’s what Rafa said he was expecting yesterday.

Other players who could leave the club and it really depends on how well they play in pre-season training in early July are Tim Krul, Siem De Jong and two in the current squad – Chancel Mbemba and even Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Allowing Mitro to go (and maybe Mbemba too) will be looked on as sacrilege by some Newcastle fans.

But Mitro, after missing three good chances and a penalty at Oxford, missed an absolute sitter yesterday in the second half against Derby that would have sealed the game for us.

He literally put the ball wide from about seven yards out when he had the whole goal to aim at.

A top striker just has to take those type of  chances and the Serbian has had a poor season at the club.

Cancel seems out of favor with Rafa and could be sold as he seems to be the 4th choice center-back now, with Ciaran Clark our top center-back this season.

We assume that any transfer fees Rafa gets from players he sells  can be reinvested back into the squad –  Ashley should definitely allow that.

So Rafa has some tough decision to make this summer, but these players will be allowed to leave Newcastle for definite in the summer.

Henri Saivet
Emmanuel Riviere
Florian Thauvin
Haris Vuckic
Curtis Good
Sammy Ameobi
Kevin Mbabu
Cheick Tiote *

* could leave this month.

Vuckic and Ameobi have contract that run out at the end of June and will be released and if Rafa cannot sell the other players he could be forced to send them out on loan again to at least get their wages off the wage bill.

We expect Rafa to offer news deals to both Vurnon Anita and Yoan Gouffran, who have played well for us this season – with Yoan being a revelation.

What do you think?

Id like North teams in the league mate but Yorkshire isnt North to me. Id sooner have Brighton up with us than Leeds

Also didnt they only fill their stadium against us? Barely touch 25k most weeks which dont Brighton get around the same…nar they can stay in the Championship this season with their Championship manager

I’ve been brought up with the values of having humility, respect and a bit of class, and that’s not come back towards us. If someone else goes against those values I think it’s wrong – they’re my values, humility respect and class, and I don’t think he (Wagner) showed any of that.

I would like to keep mbabu if his fitness is resolved…was a bit of a shining light in a pretty dull shitey season last year….i also think he would make a strong, powerful, quick cb….would also let good see out his contract….only just back from a nightmare of injuries so deserves a chance to show what he has…if..he can stay fit……was watching the Huddersfield game earlier and that mooys is a classy player….very cool and picks a good pass….playing number 10 for them….wish he was for us tbh…from what i seen the day….although thats the only time ive seen him play so might of caught him on a one off special day!lol…good performance tho.

I don’t even consider Boro as a derby team. I think they like to consider it a derby game more than we do. I once saw my Chemistry teacher when we played them at Ayresome Park, but he was wearing a Boro shirt. Always knew he was shifty.

Where the hell do you draw the line for the North/South divide if Yorkshire isn’t in the North to you?

A few years ago I sat in a cafe in Ripon and two old boys had some lunch together but hardly spoke other than the minimum required.
It was straight out of Last of The Summer Wine – especially when one of them talked about having a cousin near Middlesborough – which was he thought “somewhere up north”

I would draw the line at the A66 , that works for me
