Another Honor For Newcastle’s Christian Atsu

Newcastle’s on-loan winger from Chelsea – Christian Atsu – has been named in the Africa Cup on Nations’ team of the tournament, after playing so well for Ghana and helping them through to the semifinals of the tournament.

Ghana lost to the eventual winners of the tournament – Cameroon- who beat Egypt 2-1 in yesterday’s final.

Ghana were beaten out of 3rd place on Saturday by Burkina Faso 1-0, with the last minute winner coming from Traore.

Christian Atsu – excellent tournament

Atsu had another excellent tournament, much like he had back in the 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea, when he was also in the team of the tournament and won the award for the best goal of the tournament, which was the third goal against Guinea.

The 25 year-old will now be concentrating on trying to get a permanent deal at Newcastle as he helps the Magpies on their push for promotion straight back to the Premier League after being relegated last May.

Christian has scored three great goals for us in 19 appearances and he has shown he has the skill and ability and now he just needs to find a little bit more consistency.

But he’s very well liked player by the Newcastle fans since he seems absolutely committed to Newcastle.

Here’s his message before Saturday’s game which we won 1-0 at home to Derby to go top of the Championship.

So I guess he stayed for the 3rd place playoff match so presumably he’ll travel home today. Hopefully he’ll be fit enough for a place on the bench next Saturday?

He’s not ‘ours’, though, is he? At least, not yet.

He hasn’t appeared for us so much, so I’m not sure if Rafa
    is convinced.
Can’t see we are going to get much better.

Do we have an agreed transfer fee with Chelski and agreed
    terms with Atsu?

The comments re: Allardyce due a a relegation are good food for thought. Interesting how some managers can state as their claim to fame so to speak as never having had a team relegated. However, they have certainly been sacked from teams that were playing in poor relegation form. Strange that first part counting as some kind of laurel.

I do hope we sign Atsu as he adds excitement when he cuts in from the wing and maybe gets a shot in .

I laughed when HIPPO HEED apologised to the fans on behalf of the players. He puts the players in the shirts does he not.
Cant abide the fat Barsteward and his type of football.
He will no doubt get sacked at C.P. and walk awat with another small fortune.
Millions for failure, thats the secret eh.
