Players Leaving Newcastle In Summer Could Reach Double Figures

There have been various articles out lately that say that Rafa will have another clear-out of his Newcastle squad if we manage to get promoted, as the manager tries to build a Newcastle squad capable of challenging in the top half of the Premier League next season.

It seems there are a number of Newcastle players appear to have no future at Newcastle if we are promoted back to the Premier League.

Cheick Tiote had finally left the club, although his contract was running out at the end of June and he would have been released then in any case.

Henri Saivet – likely to leave this summer

Players who will be available for transfer this summer are:

Henri Saivet
Emmanuel Riviere
Florian Thauvin
Kevin Mbabu
Curtis Good
Massadio Haidara

They may not leave, but that would be because Newcastle don’t get decent offers for them and if that’s the case they could be sent out on loan next season to at least get their wages off the wage bill.

And Haris Vuckic and Sammy Ameobi’s contracts run out at the end of June and they will be released, after both came through the Youth Academy but haven’t made it at the club.

So that’s at least eight players who could leave Newcastle in the summer, although we do expect Vurnon Anita and Yoan Gouffran to be offered new deals and we’d be surprised if they are released when their contracts run out in June.

Other players who could leave the club include Chancel Mbemba and Aleksandar Mitrovic, who have both had indifferent seasons in Rafa Benitez’ first full term on Tyneside.

Rafa will also have to make a decision on two senior players returning from loans in the Eredevisie – midfielder Siem de Jong and goalkeeper Tim Krul.

So there are 12 players Rafa will need to consider leaving the club this summer, so it’s not unrealistic to think the players leaving the club could even reach double figures this summer.

What do you think?

Tough game today, can see it being very tight. A win, combined with a near full squad to choose from would put us in a very commanding position to the end of the season. Hopefully once Gayle returns he hits the floor running and picks up where he left off.

Ed you seem to be very keen to ship some players out that could easily be on Rafa’s retain list. Sammy in particular.

Mbemba hopefully will not be leaving, he’s still our best CB unfortunately not suited to Championship.

Of those mentioned I really hope Mbemba and Mbabu are not sold, couldn’t care much about the rest tbh.

Wouldn’t miss any of them personally and you can include Sammy for me.
I would’ve had a punt at markovic whose on loan at Hull from the bindippers. The kids lightning quick and can knock a ball in. Bit of a rough diamond but worth a gamble.
Hull haven’t been too bad tbh.

“Andy Carroll, who has been in a decent run of form with four goals in his last four outings, is out of the squad for today with a groin problem.” Unusual!

Haven’t the Gunners qualified for the Champions League nearly every season Wenger has been there? Would love it if he leaves and they end up with a dud who leaves them stuck midtable.

And I’ll even be a bit unrealistic and overly optimistic (by my standards) and say if Arsenal are out of the top four in the league next season then that’ll be one less team for us to overcome and snatch a Champions League ourselves.

Seeing as we’re playing a big lad up front, I’ll go with

    Yedders Lascelles Clark Dummett

    Shelvey Hayden

    Ritchie Diame Atsu

    1-2 away win.

I certainly don’t want Mbabu to go. Stand out player in the Academy and more than capable of stepping up. Can play centre back when required as well as right back and far too good to be casting off yet. I don’t think Rafa is thinking of offloading him anyway, I think he sent him out on loan to get experience, nothing more.

WWSBRD – of course the Gunner’s fans want their team to win things on a regular basis, and to do so they think Wenger needs to go now. Fair enough, but you’re not guaranteed someone who can do better (even if they are a ‘big name’). Still, better to take a chance and change things up rather than stagnate eh?

Aye I think that’s their argument and getting CL consistently is great but they aren’t a consideration for the title anymore which they should be really…i think Wenger lost that spark a while ago he’s hurting his legacy there now which is a shame

Ur right though a new manager may not work out but Wenger isn’t going go be around forever and he’s not getting them any higher…theres plenty managers who they could get aswell

Poor Schteve getting thumped 3-0 at home before HT. His schtick wears thin quicker than Pardew’s and then the inevitable decline happens once the players pick up on the fact they’re been managed by a buffoon.

    mackems 2-0 doon

Us going to be tough today

Wolves outplayed and outmuscled us at home in the league and I know we won 2-0 in the league cup but Wolves again were the better team until we scored.

Not confident – I’ll take a point now in a tough month for us 4 away games to teams in the top 8.

If we are still in the top two with a gap to the third after the Reading game then we should be promoted

I’m anticipating a close game, but this kind of feels the same as others where alot are expecting a narrow 1-0/2-1 win or score draw, but we end up doing much better or much worse. Not sure which way it’s going to go at this point.

    Yedlin Lascelles Clark Dummett

Darryl Janmaat playing left wing for Watford. Left! Just blew a golden chance to score. Hmmm.
