Mitrovic, Colback and Perez All Start – Gayle On Bench

Rafa Benitez has announced his starting eleven for the match at Norwich City in the Championship tonight and it’s almost an unchanged side but Ayoze Perez comes in for Mo Diane in the number 10 position.

Mitrovic starts up front again and Dwight Gayle is on the bench with Jack Colback starting again in defensive midfield.

Isaac Hayden must still be feeling his ankle, but the former Arsenal player is on the bench.

This is some of what Rafa said yesterday in his press conference about this game:

“It will be a very tough game tomorrow.” “In the first part of the season, Norwich were a team that were candidates to win the title.”

“They’re a very good team, with experience in the division.”  “They have players with quality who know their jobs.”

“Norwich are very dangerous. But we have to approach this game with the right mentality because it’s a tough game.”

Another tough game for the lads tonight and we need another 3 points.

Just over half of Newcastle fans think we can win this game.

Been busy all day so submitted my team last night. Had Hayden as a starter before we heard he was having problems today. 10/11 again for about the 3rd game in a row.

I figured Perez would start. Diame has not only been poor, but extremely greedy/wasteful in the last 2 games.

That looks like a winning line up to me, assuming the loose cannon Mitro doesnt see red. Reckon Gayle and Atsu will crank it up to 11 in the final 20 mins.

Norwich will not want to see the Perez & Mitrovic partnership again, not after last season.

Ritchie is slacking off a bit, didn’t even score against Wolves, what’s that all about.

Custard pie in the chops for the first numpty to burst a blood vessel and declare bloody Colback can only pass sideways and back, gives silly free kicks away and picks up daft yellow cards

The team is as I expected Rafa to pick.
Hope mad Mitro behaves himself and Colback doesn’t loose us the game by one of his trademark fouls in a dangerous area. Will be much happier when they’re replaced two weak links imo. Looking forward to having Gayle back in the team, maybe in the second half.

Just pulled this stat off Skysports. We could really do with correcting this tonight. We’ve got a better operation going on this season so im going for a 2-1 win.

Norwich are unbeaten in six league games against Newcastle at Carrow Road (W4 D2), scoring at least twice in each of those victories.

Not sure on Perez starting. Diame didn’t have great game on Saturday however he wasn’t alone in that respect. He does have power which Perez most certainly does not.

I think Rafa may have been swayed by Perez’s sub performance Saturday and possibly thought he might do better with Mitro.

I’d that Mitro has had/is having a severe ear bashing before the game starts.

Just hope that the ref. watch’s out for the inevitable niggling fouls he going to be receiving.

Very tricky game tonight – Norwich seem to be free scoring at the moment. Some decent forwards. Need to snuff them out/grind them down.
