Newcastle Have Injury Doubt For Norwich

Isaac Hayden is due to come into the team tonight at Norwich after his ankle was rested in the 1-0 win at Wolves on Saturday, but it seems Isaac could still be having some problems with the injury.

Since he was signed from Arsenal for £2.5M in the summer, Rafa Benitez has made him into a better player and he has basically nailed down the defensive midfield position.

Isaac has 32 appearances with one goal this season and is highly rated by the manager.

Isaac Hayden in training – ankle problem

Local lad Jack Colback was fit again and came into the team at Wolves, but we expected Isaac to come back for the game tonight at Carrow Road.

However, Jack may have to start again since it looks like Isaac’s ankle is still bothering him.

He is still receiving treatment for the injury which is a chronic one.

This is what Rafa has said about Isaac’s injury:

“We are treating his ankle and then we will decide.” “Sometimes we think it is a couple of days, then not.”

“We have to keep working on that.”

“You cannot control what happens during the game if you have a bad tackle.”

“We just have to wait and see how he progresses.”

The Newcastle team seems to play a lot better and more smoothly with Hayden in the line-up, so we hope he is fit to play.

But the medical team need to also ensure the ankle doesn’t become a bigger problem in the future for the 21 year-old.

What do you think?

Looks like some of you have jumped in a bit early with your Rafa bingo line-ups – scratch Hayden and replace him with Colback 🙂

Is it time to look at M’bemba as DM? He looked a little lost attacking in that position in the ACON, but had his back line covered.
