Newcastle Must Guard Against Any Surprises Against Villa

Aston Villa are not doing well at the moment and have lost their last four games, so when you take a cursory looks at the Newcastle vs Aston Villa game on Monday night you would expect us to win the game.

But these are sometimes the games when big shocks occur and certainly over the last 15 games of the season we must get as many wins as possible and a draw or a defeat are simply points lost – if we want to get promoted in an automatic position.

The more wins we can get the sooner we can be promoted, so it’s always important to win games.

Rafa Benitez in training yesterday

That’s especially true when Huddersfield Town under manager David Wagner seem to be coming up like a steam train.

This is what Rafa said yesterday in his press conference as watched on nufcTV:

“In Aston Villa we are talking about a very big club that has done well in their history.”  “Now they are here with us.”

“They have spent a lot of money and they have very good players plus an experienced manager.” “You are talking about a big club that is now in the Championship.”

“It will be a great atmosphere.” “The fans would enjoy a win because when you have a strong team in front of you it’s even better.”

“After this crucial period we still have a lot of games to play.” “In the end you have to keep your consistency, keep your head cool in every single game.”

“We have so many games.” “This one will be so important but so will the others.”

There are 15 games left and if we can get 30 points from those games that would be 96 points and certain promotion.

That’s 10 wins.

    Quite right Ed

Although Gabby Agbonlahor won’t be fit.

Scott Horgan and Dwight Gayle both have the same record number of shots on target in the Championship (43)

Conor Hourihane has the most assists in the Championship (11)

    Quiz question.

What do these toon fixtures this season have in common ?

    Huddersfield Town -home
    Blackburn Rovers – home
    Wolverhampton Wanderers – home
    Nottingham Forest – away

    I’ll tell you

    Two things

All defeats and Jack Colback didn’t play in any of them.

He was also subbed after an hour at Fulham and didn’t play in our 3 really disappointing draws – Villa 1 – 1 away – QPR 2-2 home – Norwich away 2-2

The anti-Colback clan really need to give their heads a shake.
