Shock Brighton Result Leaves Newcastle Top

Brighton & Hove Albion slumped to a surprising 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest so that’s 5 goals conceded in two games for what was the best defense in the Championship before the game last Tuesday at home to Newcastle United, which they lost 2-1.

Two of the Forest goals came late in the game after 89 minutes and in stoppage time.

Chris Hughton – Brighton manager – shock defeat at Forest

Brighton have now lost six games, just one less than Newcastle.

It’s interesting that when they lost at Newcastle 2-0 in August they lost their next game 2-0 at home to Brentford.

So in the Newcastle games this season and the games that followed they have lost all four and conceded 9 goals.

In other results Reading beat Wolves 2-1 at home and Sheffield Wednesday hammered Norwich 5-1 at home.

So whatever happens this afternoon Newcastle will stay 2 points clear of Brighton at the top of the table, but it would be a great time to get a win against the Terriers and start pulling away from the field.

Here’s how the table stands before tonight’s game at Huddersfield.

Haha, Huddersfield 6 points back from Brighton but 21 games in hand. Should be pretty straight forward for them after we hand it to them in 5 minutes.

Getting worried now. Just want to cheer on the Toon. This isn’t easy. Look out for Old Blackas. Left as come out tunnel in line with pen spot two thirds up lower tier. No parrot coat today.

Surprised Anita is starting after a long lay off against this team considering he played poorly in the reverse fixture.

Even more surprised we got a penalty! Just missed it so didn’t get a proper look, does he trip him? Could be soft.
