Brighton & Hove Albion slumped to a surprising 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest so that’s 5 goals conceded in two games for what was the best defense in the Championship before the game last Tuesday at home to Newcastle United, which they lost 2-1.
Two of the Forest goals came late in the game after 89 minutes and in stoppage time.
Chris Hughton – Brighton manager – shock defeat at Forest
Brighton have now lost six games, just one less than Newcastle.
It’s interesting that when they lost at Newcastle 2-0 in August they lost their next game 2-0 at home to Brentford.
So in the Newcastle games this season and the games that followed they have lost all four and conceded 9 goals.
In other results Reading beat Wolves 2-1 at home and Sheffield Wednesday hammered Norwich 5-1 at home.
So whatever happens this afternoon Newcastle will stay 2 points clear of Brighton at the top of the table, but it would be a great time to get a win against the Terriers and start pulling away from the field.
Here’s how the table stands before tonight’s game at Huddersfield.

Comment #50Huddersfield dominated since we scored without creating anything. Seems we steadied that storm for now and can maybe get more of the ball.

Comment #59Murphy must be on something like a goal every 90 minutes this season. I like Mitrovic, but no arguments on Murphy being ahead of him.

Comment #60No foul at all, weak hands by keeper, Murphy proving a point here, I think he has been great. Keep that defense solid it will come again

Comment #75Don’t think two fouls should result in a yellow for consistent fouling. He’s done a decent job so far though.
Atsu hasn’t gotten the ball enough to get in the game yet.

Comment #80Murphy is all round a better player than mitrovic. Mitrovic should have no complaints beingdown in the pecking order.
