Brighton Win Easily To Keep Pressure On Newcastle

Brighton & Hove Albion won at home tonight against Derby County by 3-0 after being 2-0 up at half time and so draw level on points with newcastle with 77 points from 37 games played.

Newcastle will play their game tomorrow afternoon and will now be top whatever happens but we need to wing the game so that Brighton do not gain on us.

So former manager Steve McClaren wasn’t able to help us out tonight.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton

The goals came from Anthony Knockaert after just 5 minutes, Sam Baldock after 43 minutes and striker Glenn Murray with 12 minutes to go.

That was Derby’s 5th defeat in the last 9 games where they have picked up just 6 points.

Yes Lesh, football does have that terrible knack of building you up, then cutting you down. With the finishing line now coming into sight, I’ve got butterflies going into this one.

If Brighton were the scalp we are, they’d be about 8th, and that amby pamby Knockheart cooling his heels on their bench. F@ck em!

Brighton never lose damn! Wanted Hughton’s team to slip upmfor a change but they seem to win every game the play by more than two goals. It’s surprising how we’re A- still top and B- still have a superior goal difference. I think they will nick the title in the end. Tbh although it will be great to win the league again I just want us to get promoted automatically and finally take us back to where we belong with the big boys.

Keep the faith! We are going to win the championship. We are going to get promoted in one of the automatic promotion spots. We have not lost a match since Jan 2nd. We just beat Brighton and Huddersfield away – back to back!!! We have one of the elite managers in the world. We have the greatest fans in the world! We have the best team in the league! Be optimistic: pessimism won’t make things any better. As long as the team works their tails off and follows Rafa’s game plan, one game at a time, all will be OK! Enjoy!!!

    Match day 🙂
Up with the larks in anticipation. Another test of our nerve, thanks to Derby’s no show.
Hats off to the other two teams, they have gone through so far without wilting, tiring too much, or picking up significant injuries (SO FAR)….but we’re on the final stretch now, still top of the league! Everyone talks about pressure on us, but it’s on all the teams up there now…it’s crunch time.
    Gonna sing me heart out!!
Howay the lads, we can do it!

    Training yesterday

Notice JosĂ© Angel Garcia and Javier Miñano two top Spanish fitness coaches who said after Friday’s session , that Paco de Miguel (Rafa’s current fitness coach) is one of the best they have seen.

Only for this time, it would be good to show fans who’s lurking below Sheffield. I hadn’t realized this is like a must win for them.
I’ll take a draw right now. Want a win of course 🙂

A likely selection. I hope Vern has regained a lot of sharpness since his last game though!

Everyone seems to fancy Gayle will start. Just the right time for him to get his sights zeroed in for the final push. He will be fresh…
Atsu instead of Gouffran please Rafa?

I think your opinions on footy became entirely worthless after you accused the majority of the blog of being footy know nowts over our opinions on Riverie
