Newcastle To Sell Some Big Name Players This Summer

It looks like Newcastle could again be selling a number of big name players this summer, much like we did last summer and Rafa may even surprise us about the players he is willing to sell.

There are a number of players who are not good enough for the team and they will be sold and they include players like Florian Thauvin, Henri Saivet, Massadio Haidara and Emmanuel Riviere.

But it seems that other big name players could also be sold and they certainly will include Chancel Mbemba, who doesn’t seem to have been able to get into the side much at all this season, yet he played so well for us last season.

Tim Krul and Chancel Mbemba could leave this summer

It will be a big surprise if we do sell Mbemba in the summer,  but that looks like it will happen and it may be best for the lad’s career to move to another club.

We paid around £8M for him from Anderlecht in the summer of 2015 and with the prices having gone up since then we should get a good price for him.

The other player who could leave Newcastle this summer is his former Anderlecht team-mate Aleksandar Mitrovic, although we don’t really know exactly what Rafa thinks of the player.

Maybe he thinks the 22 year-old just needs some time to bring out the best in him, but if the Serbian International does go we will get a good price for him after he cost us £13M from Anderlecht.

The other big name players who could be sold this summer include Tim Krul and Siem de Jong and it’s likely that Rafa will need to make a decision in the summer on which three senior goalkeepers he will keep and Tim may be the one that is sold.

Top young goalkeeper prospect Freddie Woodman will likely be loaned out to a Championship club for the season.

Siem de Jong will need to prove to Rafa in pre-season that he has regained his old form otherwise he could well be sold – maybe back to a top club in Holland.

Rafa has to make decisions on two of our current first team players whose contracts are up at the end of June – Yoan Gouffran and Vurnon Anita.

With Rafa reported after a number of wingers like Andros Townsend, Ben Osborn and he could also sign Christian Atsu permanently – he could decide not to renew the contract of Gouffran.

There’s more chance he would want to keep Vurnon Anita at the cub as a very good versatile player and we would be shocked if Rafa doesn’t give the 27 year-old Dutchman a new deal.

So if we are promoted this season it certainly  looks like it will be a very busy and exciting transfer window.

We can’t wait, but first of all we must win a lot of the remaining 10 games to secure that much wanted promotion.

If we go up Rafa will have a very busy summer just sorting out those on loan and what to do with Mitro.

Its most likely the most important summer in decades,if the fat man dont stump up some serious cash we will not only struggle in the prem we will struggle to keep Rafa at the club.

I think it’s going to be a bit tricky to oversee a few departures due to wages, fees etc.

I think it all depends on who is available to us in the summer Mitrovic, Perez and Mbemba have struggled the physical aspect of the championship but may get used more in the premiership…

Or they could get moved on for other players Rafa is generally quite ruthless which is exactly what we need

“Chancel Mbemba, who doesn’t seem to have been able to get into the side much at all this season, yet he played so well for us last season.”

Couldn’t have played that well considering we got relagated with a ridiculous amount of goals conceded. As a defender his positioning is terrible. We seen him time and time again make great last ditch tackles because in fact he was out of position to begin with. How many times could he not make that last ditch tackle and we conceded? I’ll be delighted to see the back of him. Terrible defender and it’s clear Rafa can see this.

Way too early to speculate on transfers.

Hope we buy strong and early so the agents of those who won’t be getting a game can get to work and shift them off the books to a decent club.

@C-dog, you’re clearly insane. I would take Mbemba over Clarke in my premier league team any day of the week. The latter was an absolute liability for Villa in the top league; an accident just waiting to happen in every game.
