Predicted Newcastle Team For Fulham – 3 Changes

Rafa will likely start another strong team for the visit of Fulham tomorrow at St. James’ Park when we need a win to keep the pressure on at the top of the Championship.

We don’t do as well generally at home, so we hope we can start changing that against the Cottagers.

DeAndre Yedlin. Isaac Hayden and Rolando Aarons are out injured for this game and are not available.

Mo Diame – in for Perez tomorrow?

Here’s a team Rafa could start tomorrow when we need to have goalscorers in the side so we can take advantage of Fulham’s relatively weak defense.

Darlow
Anita Lascelles (c) Clark Dummett
Shelvey Colback
Ritchie Diame Gouffran
Gayle

We have Anita coming in to start in place of Jesus Gamez and Diame coming in for Ayoze Perez in the number 10 position.

And we think Rafa may start Gayle up front in place of the impressive Daryl Murphy since Dwight now seems to have his confidence back and is always a goal threat when on form.

We have Gouffran in the side because of his strength in tracking back and Rafa expects Fulham to attack Newcastle and for it to be an open game.

What team would you start tomorrow against an attacking side like Fulham?

Referring to Ed’s earlier thread about Rafa’s coyness in answering a question about next yesr, I think that’s understandable since he’s said to be after a face-to-face with Mike Ashley and I doubt Rafa’s aim is to have a nice chat over tea and cucumber sandwiches. He’ll need to clarify and/ or reaffirm their mutual understandings of which way Ashley wants the Club to go. He won’t want to weaken his negotiating position and thus will play his cards close to his chest.

However, Ashley has been given a real and public panning by the Institute of Directors in a letter to today’s Guardian. They refer to Sports Direct as the ‘poster-child for corporate governance failings’ – the result of his stranglehold on the running of SD (my words).

I’d like to think that Ashley might feel that he needs to devote all of his time to SD to be seen to trying to gain credibility and hopefully keep his hands off the running of Newcastle United – a mere toy compared with his retail and property empire – and leave things to Charnley and Rafa….. like he said he was going to until he was reported (rightly or wrongly) to have vetoed any signings in January.

I know Ashley’s thick skinned when it comes to money matters but can he really afford to be seen to be responsible for missing out on promotion, a world-class manager walking out, losing a sponsor whose name has a positive image and facing a major and very public backlash.

    I think…….

Anyway, for those going to SJP tomorrow, lots of flags, lots of pro-Rafa support on his first anniversary at the Club, lots of positive support for the lads on the pitch and hope for a big home win to raise spirits.

    Rafa Bingo:

    …………….Darlow
    Anita Lascelles Clark Dummett
    ……….Shelvey Colback
    …..Ritchie Diame Gouffran
    …………….Gayle

I couldn’t decide between Gouf and Atsu but Rafa will probably start cautiously so I went with Ed’s team.

I am confident Derby will get something from tonight’s game. They will cause Brighton some problems. Going for a 1.1 draw.

    Bingo line up.

    Darlow

    Anita Lascelles Clark Dummett

    Shelvey Colback

    Ritchie Diame Atsu

    Gayle

Fulham like to play football, so they’ll be open for us to play around them. Draw them in, hit them quick, hence Gayle ahead of Big Murph and Atsu ahead of The Gouff

    Bonus score 3-1 home win.
Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Plenty of Rafa support, but plenty for the team. We never let Rafa forget how much he’s appreciated anyway, but sometimes not so much the lads. Need to make our home games count big style, starting tomorrow. Six home games, six wins and we’re there. Let’s make away sides fear coming here, like they used to. Growl at them if necessary! 🙂
Hoping McClaren will do us a favour tonight, despite the fact that that will encourage Huddersfield even more. There’ll be some strange results no doubt between now and May so expect this to go all the way.

Mitrovic is being linked with Crystal Palace and West Ham. Hopefully Mitrovic isn’t used as leverage to get Townsend, as I am sure we could get Townsend anyway. Andy Carroll rumours are bound to surface the more Mitrovic is linked with West Ham. Carroll will be 28 and have 2 years left on his contract this summer – so if West Ham want to get a premium price – it will have to be the upcoming window. Personally I would take a straight swap; Mitrovic for Carroll (after some rigorous health testings).

Dunno about Pardewed but Derby have been McClarened 🙂 Absolutely wide open at the back, Brighton could score at any time. Any hope of getting a favour from them already looking very unlikely.
Anyway, we don’t need favours. It’s completely in our own hands, we just need to keep winning. Win all our home games and whatever we get away is a bonus. Let’s put it this way, right now, I guarantee the other two clubs involved would swap places in a heartbeat. Starting tomorrow we want to go out and win it in style by using these games to set a new winning streak of ten games. 🙂 Best way ever to finish the season off. Right, second half for what it’s worth.

Table can look like this going into our home game at Birmingham. We need a home win against Fulham. None of this after the Lord Mayor’s show stuff.

    Newcastle 37 77
    Brighton 37 77
    Huddersfield 37 74
