Issac Hayden hasn’t played for Newcastle since the game against Derby on 4th February and a couple of weeks after that game he underwent surgery on his ankle and he was expected to be put about four weeks initially.
Ir’s fair to say we have missed Isaac in the side since Newcastle tend to be more free-flowing with Isaac in that defensive midfield position and he’s improved a lot this season under the guidance of Rafa Benitez.
It looks like Isaac will be returning to training next week so he could be available for the game at home to Wigan in 1st April and could maybe make the bench for that game if everything goes well over the next couple of weeks.
Rafa Benitez and Isaac Hayden
Rafa has talked about Isaac and Rolando Aarons to the local press.
This is what he said as reported in the Chronicle today:
“Hayden is improving a lot and hopefully next week he will start training with the team.”
“Hayden’s coming back and hopefully, this international break will allow us to recover some players.”
“Rolando is still training but needs time although he is training with the team.”
“Sterry and Yedlin are both out now along with Clark.” “We will see how they progress this week but he’s doing well.”
DeAndre Yedlin is now back in Newcastle after being assessed by the American medics in Los Angeles and he will resume treatment of his thigh injury on Tyneside.
It could be that in two to three weeks we could have almost all of the 27 man squad fit and available to play – except for young Jamie Sterry who may be out for the season.
