Split Reaction To Draw From Newcastle Fans

It’s not too surprising that Newcastle fans were split on the reaction to the draw at Birmingham yesterday when we were expected to beat an off-form Blues side.

But we didn’t, even though we had the chances to do that, but it was the same old story – we missed chances and their goalkeeper was outstanding – oh yes and we had a good goal disallowed by Matt Ritchie in the first half.

But sooner or later (make the sooner) we have to start getting the results that our play deserves.

The results are all that really matter these days as the season draws to a close in the next seven weeks.

Matt Ritchie in action yesterday

That’s really the two sides of the story and we still gained a point on both Brighton and Huddersfiled and remain at the top of the league table.

Here’s some reaction form fans to yesterday’s draw.

I think the real frustration is the inconsistency in our play especially the difference in home and away form. I never know which Newcastle is going to turn up, on paper player for player we shouldn’t be having any problems against second rate opposition but just recently that’s happening all the time.

Maybe part of the problem is we had players who struggled to make an impact in the Prem and thought they’d now be a top player in this division. As it turns out they’re still struggling, just not good enough full stop. I’m sure Rafa knew this in January but for what ever reason couldn’t get in anyone he needed
