A few of Newcastle’s players currently have injuries – Ciaran Clark and DeAndre Yedlin being the latest two injured.

But players like Isaac Hayden and Rolando Aaron could be ready to play on April 1st when the Championship games continues and we play Wigan at home.

Ciaran Clark is an important player for us and it remains to be seen if his knee injury is serious and Yedlin, who provides an attacking option down the right wing when he plays, could be back soon after the International break ends.

We need more of this from Dwight Gayle in final 8 games

There’s a chance we will have almost all of the 27 man squad fit to play in the run-in to the Championship with Dwight Gayle becoming more and more match fit and he could yet rifle in those goals that finally take Newcastle back to the Premier League.

Gayle has 21 goals in the Championship so far this season and in the final eight games of the season let’s hope he can add a few more to that total – as many as possible.

Daryl Murphy has also proven this year that he is a reliable and experienced player you can count on and he has scored 5 goals in his limited appearances for the Magpies this season – a good contribution.

And this is what Rafa Benitez has said about number 9 Dwight Gayle, as reported in the Chronicle.

“We have seen how important he is to us right through the season.”

“We have competition up front and that can only be positive.”

“It is in the international break now and that gives us an opportunity to improve the fitness of some players.”

“I can only see that as a positive.”

We don’t have too many players away on Intentional duty, so Rafa will be hoping to drill the players and sort out a few things ready for the run-in to the Championship.

Newcastle are still huge odds-on favorites with the bookies to gain an automatic promotion spot.

We must not mess this up.
