Newcastle Shouldn’t Go After This Striker This Summer

Newcastle definitely need to buy a top striker this summer and since Liverpool will want to unload Daniel Sturridge we will no doubt be linked with a move for this 27 year-old former Chelsea striker.

In fact there have already been reports out that Newcastle should go out and try to sign the 25 times capped England International.

But one of the things that would make Daniel a poor buy is his injury record and it seems he has a hard job to stay fit.

Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool striker

He’s continually injured, which is one reason his appearances over the last five seasons at Liverpool have been restricted.

In that time he has played only 113 times for the Reds but has still scored a massive 59 goals and more than one goal in every two appearances – the stats of a top striker.

We are not questioning his ability one little bit – there’s no doubt he’s a very talented striker who can score goals when fit.

But he’s a bit like Geordie striker Andy Carroll in that he has difficulty staying fit – when Andy’s fit he plays really well for West Ham.

In his five seasons at Liverpool, Sturridge has averaged just less than 23 appearances each season and that’s less than 50% of Liverpool’s games.

Daniel will cost a sizable transfer fee because he’s such a good player, but he would become very expensive because usually he’s usually only available for half a season.

What do you think?

On sisko he’s only played 3 full 90mins games for them and the equivalent of 1 and a half champions league games haha all for 30 mill!
And the myth of him having an outstanding euros is exactly that he ran with the ball a bit and had no final ball just like we had witnessed countless times
