International Winger Ready For Newcastle’s Final Eight Games

Matt Ritchie is one of the Newcastle players away on International duty and he has also been one of our key players this season, netting a good 13 goals for us and was one of the best of Rafa’s signings last summer.

In fact, along with other new signings Dwight Gayle and Ciaran Clark – he will be in the running for Player of the Season this term.

Matt had a very good season in the Premier League with Bournemouth last season and if we do get back there for next season we expect Matt to be even better than he’s been this season.

Matt seems to be thriving under the expert coaching of Rafa Benitez.

Matt Ritchie – in Scotland’s colors

Here’s what Matt has said in the Shields Gazette as he talks a little bit about Scotland and then about the really important stuff – Newcastle United:

“I hope I’ll have a role to play for Scotland.” “We’ve obviously got a lot of competition for places, and there are a lot of good players in the squad.”

“But I’ll go there as I always do to try to do my best.” “In a way, maybe this is coming at a good time.”

“We’ve had a lot of tough games recently, so it might be good to wind down a bit in training over the next few days and concentrate on recovering a bit.”

“It’s tough when you play Saturday-Tuesday all the time.” “It’s hard to get yourself back to peak fitness and condition.”

“Making sure you’re ready to go again is tough, and you’re always going into games with little knocks or strains.”

“There’s obviously a few of us that are going away for internationals.”

“But we’ll still be trying to look after our bodies and get back to peak condition. “Then we’ll go again for the run in.”

Matt is one of our key players during the run-in and he’s scored a number of goals since January when Dwight Gayle was injured.

So we need  both Matt and Dwight knocking in those goals for us and they can start in the next two games – home games against Wigan and Burton Albion on April 1st and April 5th respectively.

If we can get 6 points from those games – we are on our way.

Here are the remaining games of the season.

Erm, that arma goal from last thread was for Barnsley not England.

The kit, the hoardings and the fact he’d already scored that exact goal should of been the giveaways.

    Channel 5 highlights too lol.

Definitely think charlie taylor is a must on a free, he’d definitely leave Leeds for us. Can both defend and attack, only 23

Nope not for me , not good , I want far better than him
Didn’t wait all this time to see Dummett step aside for another average player …

Lol, I mean he’s better than Dummett, but any suggestions on who we could get better than Taylor? Jose Gaya one of the worlds up and coming left backs so probably unrealistic, Lucas Digne, Ben Davies, Benjamin Mendy but again these are all slightly unrealistic?

    Robertson?

Shaker what would you think of Cairney coming in for number 10, personally think he’s perfect and would easily make the step up to the prem.

Agree with giggs for a change.
England need to take players on in wide areas in order to unlock the parked bus. We have walker, sterling, lallana, quick tricky players in abundance. Need to get past their man to open them up! England too pedestrian and waiting for it to happen at the moment.

Good names you mentioned , All of them would be very good for us , Digne is really a player i watched play well
in France , thought we might go for him but Barcelona signed him , no chance for us

I don’t want a typical classic English full back
I want a modern one , a wing back who has pace , good in the air & not afraid to DIVE for tackles ..

as for Cairney , would love to see him at NUFC just because he has the most key passes in this League this season
that’s just the start , he can hold the ball , unlike Diame
    more physical than Perez
the work rate & the way he press is much better than the 2 we have so definitely an improvement ..

    Mister Tuff
    That’s kind, thank you.
Wouldn’t it be quicker and more effective just to put some money in a plain brown envelope and leave it with the Ticket office each match day and I’ll pick it up then.
Password: “I’m John Carver” to which the reply must be ” and who do you think I am Joe Kinnear”
At that point the envelope passes under the counter .
    Sorted and good night.
