Massadio Haidara has been at Newcastle over four years now, since he signed on from Nancy in January of 2013 along with four other Frenchman.
Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Yoan Gouffran were the other four players signed with Haidara.
But Haidara has been out with one injury after another since then and he’s only played 51 times for the first team since he arrived from France.
Massadio played 8 times last season and has played only 4 times this season and his contract runs out in 15 months time.
Massadio Haidara – little playing time
Haidara has found it difficult being on the sidelines this season and he says he’s not the only player in the Newcastle squad who is frustrated with his lack of playing time .
This is what Massadio has told the Shields Gazette today in an exclusive interview:
“He talks to me. He talks to everyone.”
“He has told me that he cannot play everyone and that some players must stay away from the first-team.”
“But there are many games left until May and who knows if I will get my chance. Either way I will be ready if I am needed.”
“There are many players here with the same frustrations because we are not playing,” “This is a problem when a team has so many good players.”
“We have a big squad. A quality squad. “But every player must keep pushing. If we all do that we will get better as a team.”
Those are not particularly negative comments for Haidara – he’s just naturally frustrated because he’s not playing.
It’s an important time of the season with only 8 games to play and it could be that in a couple of weeks time all of our 27 players in the first team squad will be fully fit to play.
It’s not the time to upset the apple cart and it looks likely that Massadio could be one of the players who will be sold in the summer as Rafa further strengthens the Newcastle squad.
Hopefully for a season back in the Premier League.
We expect Rafa to show his ruthless streak in the summer as he cuts players to try to make Newcastle Premier League ready.
What do you think?

Comment #1Jesus Gamez has taken advantage of the international break to go to Fuengirola Spain.
He was born in Fuengirola and is a lifelong Malaga supporter (the club where he spent most of his career)
He owns several restaurants there and there are big hints in the article below that he might be returning to Malaga this summer.

Comment #2If Haidara isnot better than Dummett then he deserves to be no where near the 1st team, but I believe “one goal blunder per game Dummett” isnot better and should be dropped.

Comment #3He is better than Paul …way way way better …the only player we have who gives the ball away cheaply is Mr dummet with a staggering 67% ..I would say his defensive work rate is high but to give back the ball to the opposition so as far as I am concerned is the the week link
