Good News On The International Front For Newcastle

Matt Ritchie did not play over the International break for Scotland and while that puts some question marks on the wisdom of Scotland manager Gordon Strachan, Newcastle fans will be very happy that Matt didn’t play.

Not only is he fully fit, but he will be ready to score those goals for us in the vital final eight games remaining this season.

Matt Ritchie – in Scotland’s colors

In the game against Slovenia at Hampden Park, even though the Scots were having a hard time of it, Strachan did not bring on Ritchie from the bench.

And in the friendly game against Canada, Matt also didn’t get any playing time and therefore he will be all set to go against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Matt has scored 13 goals for us this season and for a very reasonable £12M ffee rom Bournemouth he is one of Rafa Benitez’ best signings last summer.

Not only is Matt an excellent player who can score goals for us from the wing, but he will also keep improving  under Rafa Benitez.

He’s also a smashing lad.

Matt is fully committed to Newcastle and moved his family to the north-east once he was signed last summer.

Like the rest of us, Matt is looking forward to Newcastle United being a force in the football world again.

But first of all we have to get promoted,

We need to get those 3 points on Saturday against Wigan at St. James’ Park and we can do that with the help of a rested and even rejuvenated Matt Ritchie.

Howay The Lads!!

Back to proper football on Saturday, whoopee.

For some reason I thought our first game was next Tuesday!
