Delighted Newcastle Fans Take To Twitter After Vital Home Win

It was exactly what we wanted – another win even although it was tough, although the games are all tough at this stage of the season especially against those teams fighting relegation like Wigan.

Ask Huddersfield – who lost 1-0 at home today to Burton Albion and we play the Brewers on Wednesday night.

Delighted Newcastle fans took to Twitter after the game – we are 3 points closer to that promotion.

Howay The Lads!!

Matt Richie after scoring the winner today after 57 minutes

He must be a lucky mascot!

This is way off topic, but I was thinking about it in the shower this morning. You know that 30 mil loan cashley gave us in the winter do you think it’s so he can take it back out of the club with massive interest, when we win the champ and we get paid for going back into the premier league in the summer

Just doing the math. We go 3-2-2 and finish at 92 plus one for GD, and Hudd need to go 7-1 to overtake us. Not resting, but looks good.

Reading up 1-0, think that is good, but too hard to worry about those teams.

Not sure about history with Carl there, but seemed a bit harsh. We should want to win the league and should think we are the best team, but to my previous point – lets be happy just for automatic promotion, and I do thank Rafa for that seemingly likely outcome.

1st post from a longtime reader and supporter, lived in Newcastle for 12 years and a supporter since King Kev’s promotion year! Firstly great blog Ed enjoy it immensely.

Rafas 4231 will be great for next year in the prem when we will need to defend and counter attack against some teams. With the right personnel it can provide some scintillating football. We look like more of a team at times and intermittently quite dangerous, less clueless or negative in possession and more solid at the back. When not on song we still look average and short of numbers and quality.

    Assessment of squad
Keepers good premier league quality, Darlow, Krul, Elliot, Sels, Woodman ( sell 1, not Darlow )
Defence RB Yedlin/Anita / Sterry ? Sell gamez unknown quantity to me
LB Dummet good second choice Lazzar/ Colback sell Haidara too injury prone, flashes of potential only in 3 years for me
CB Lascelles, Clark, Mbemba, Hanley ( Good ) I wouldn’t change anything here, higher priorities

Need a quality LB please Luke Shaw from Man United

    CM
Shelvey, class still needs to be fitter and more mature but potential to be world class
    Hayden promising
Colback reliable squad player good 4th choice and can play RB, gets a lot of abuse but still potential to improve under Rafa

    Need a new CM ?who

    Wingers
Ritchie, also great Premier league class
Atsu should sign him good potential
Gouffran/ Diame both ok, journeymen at best in Premier league, I would sell one and keep one
Need a new quality winger, I’d be happy with Andros Townsend, could be real world class again under Rafa, could misfire, definitely a sub who can change a game
Rolando Aarons could next year show his potential
Sammy Amebi sorry mate, for sale/ no new contract I think

    Forwards
    we need a number 10
Gayle premier league class, pacy, natural born scorer
Perez good potential to improve under Rafa needs to do it next year though, better suited to premier league than championship
Murphy been impressed with his contribution looks premier league ready
Mitrovic great potential, should go out on loan next year to a championship team to play regularly, if he does well then replace Murphy the season after next, needs to play week in week out
Armstrong, needs another year playing 25 to 30 games in the championship
We need another striker possibilities are Jermain Defoe , he will be chomping for premier league game time to play for England in Russia, looks fit, free, will piss off the mackems can play for us next two seasons until Armstrong is ready to replace!

Loanees maybe the Swiss Fullback could come back de Jong, swivel, rivière, thauvin, saivet, all need to go for whatever money

So in total, sell /release Sels, gamez, Haidara, Ameobi, gouffran, saivet, Dejong thauvin, riviere
buy Luke shaw, Atsu, Andros townsend, Jermain defoe, a CM and a number 10
    loan out mitrovic and Armstrong

Number 10 Wilshire or sigurdson or lamela
    Or Tom carney
Cm Carrick for one year come home Geordie boy, Macarthy from Everton, or ?
Diame, Colback, Perez, Anita, dummet, Hanley will be our squad players with Atsu and Aarons being the young wingers and mi trovic and Armstrong getting ready to replace Defoe/Murphy in 2 and 3 years time

Sorry lads been wanting to post that for ages!
