Newcastle Fans Remain So Upbeat The Morning After

We love looking at the reactions of the Newcastle fans after we have won a game because everything is just great – everything perfect – we have won a game – what more could you ask for?

Oh sorry I’m getting carried away (once) again – don’t tell Rafa – I’ll be in big trouble!

🙂

Here are some reactions from Geordie fans on Twitter this morning after the lads delivered what we asked for yesterday – a win against a very decent Wigan side.

And the Terriers even lost at home to Burton Albion to help us out and go 10 points clear of the 3rd placed club.

He already knows Newcastle are number one
One of the great shots taken by the Chronicle yesterday

Cue Kimbo, TOF and Munster to put a downer on that headline. Sorry guys today the sun is shining, we’re still top of the league and you miserable sods can’t bring me down.

Did Putton slip on a banana skin again yesterday??

Did Rafa state he wants us to score five goals at home but is happy with another three points ?

No doubt we’ve played better and been more entertaining -and not won. I’m thinking of games like our away draw with Norwich, for example, or even home against Bristol City where we gave two silly goals away but could have scored 7 in the second half.
Give me ANY sort of win – lucky, scrappy, boring – at this stage it’s all about 3 points. And I don’t see us being any more expansive against Burton, who are clearly no pushovers.
Like somebody said before, the fat lady is still tuning up and the champagne is still in the off-licence. My eternal pessimism will not accept we’re up until it’s a mathematical certainty. For the same reason I am completely turned off by speculation about who we might or might not buy in the summer until we know which league we’re playing in!

My prediction for the season was 97 points, which is still possible. If we win all our remaining games, we will have 102 points!

If we continue with our points per game average for the season, which is 2.076 points per game, through the last seven games, we will total at least 95 points, which is the maximum Huddersfield can acquire!

95 points will not guarantee the Championship title however, and it is important to be promoted as Champions.

We are favourites for the title, time to justify a celebration. There is no other team in the Championship who wouldn’t rather be in our position, including Brighton.

The trolls and makems who post on this blog are always commenting the obvious, that is the current squad will not be good enough to compete in the Premiership. No shit Sherlocks!

Consider this, the squad that got us relegated last year, would not have us in the position we are in now!

Rafa made drastic changes last summer, he won’t be topping up his tan this year! The Man has work to do.

Hang on to your hats, keep the faith, seven games left, seven Steps to Heaven…

Rafa has done a great job!

Top scorers, best attack and defence in the league, and goal difference (which is like an extra point no other team in the league can match that. Some dominating performances at different points throughout the season as well.

Keep it going, I’ll be cheering them on as usual on Wednesday.

Another positive for us about Huddersfield: Yes, they have a game in hand but that means they have to play SEVEN more games in April (we have 6 ). That could be knackering!

Toon should take a look at this Shola Ameobi bloke scored a brace yesterday for another Black ‘n’ White team – Notts County.

Nice picture of the bairn. He’s got Shearer’s goal celebration so he just needs to be fast-tracked through the youth system and we we’ll have another geordie number nine at SJP.
