We Have Been Warned – Wayward Pundit Predicts Newcastle Win

If pundits were supposed to get results wrong then David Prutton of Sky Sports would be one of the very best in the business – at least where Newcastle United are concerned.

David never seems to get his predictions right for the Magpies – we were supposed to lose to both Brighton and Huddersfield, but we won them both.

Then he relented and said we would beat Reading away – but we only drew.

David Prutton – Sky Sports pundit predicts Newcastle win – what’s going on?

Then for the Wigan game after the International break, David said this had banana skin written all over it and predicted a 2-2 draw.

This while seemingly predicting wins for Brighton and Huddersfield almost every single game – as he did for their Saturday games when the Terriers actually lost to Burton at home.

At least now he has admitted he cannot get his Newcastle predictions right.

That’s very true.

🙂

Here’s what David has said about tomorrow night’s game at home to Burton Albion:

“We’ve seen Newcastle struggle against teams down the bottom: Wolves, Blackburn and QPR when they were down there.”

“I just can’t get Newcastle right. When I go draw, they win, when I go win, they draw. My head’s all over the place.” (so is mine)

“But I’m going to side with a narrow home win with Dwight Gayle getting the winner.” (oh no!)

Prutton Prediction: 1-0

The last time he predicted a home win for us (2-0) was when we could only draw 2-2 with Bristol City.

So we have all been warned.

Yes he predicts wins again for Brighton – at home Birmingham tonight (2-0) and Huddersfield (2-1) at home to Norwich tomorrow night.

Same old same old.

I guess on the law of averages he has to get our result correct sometime – let’s hope it is tomorrow night but hopefully with a more comfortable score than he predicts – Saturday was tense enough!
